i didn't really like Aeris that much. she wasn't strong, her limit does nothing but heal or something like that, her magic isn't that much better than anyone else's, she has low defense, and very low HP. so, no i don't think she was useful.

well... my vot is for 'not sure' as for the fact that yes, her limit 'seal evil' was useful... but she wasn't really part of the game long enough for me to be able to tell

thing with the Gold Saucer and she walks into the hotel room and I never get Tifa, Yuffie, or Barret h which is surprising because inathe game I pick options that would piss her off and yet I still get herqwhich is weird.

If you take the time to get her third and fourth level limit breaks, you may find like I did that they're extremely useful. Unfortunately there's very little chance of e2er getting them naturally without putting special effort into levelling her up early.

what really pissed me off about Aeris is that she is forced on you at the one point in FFVII wherq i can seriously level up. in the Temple of the Ancients, as so+n as you get the Bahamut materia, you can stay in that room and kill the monsters over and over. and when you run outta MP you talk to the old man outside. bad thing is, me, my second member (usually Yuffie), and Aeris. i hate it. when i get out of there my, third member is waaaaaay behind.

First time I thought she was useless...

Until, I eqip her with summon materia she's useful, and when she does her 3rd and 4th Limit break... you can't blame the girl...when she gets mad... it's funny...

Believe it or not (like Ripley's) I had Aeris doing some major physical damage from the back row with long range and deathblow materia. She starts off kinda weak, but I get her attacking, casting, and having HP as much and as well as the best of my characters.

.... and I think she's cuter than Tifa.

getting killed. I was so happy to see her die. She was annoying and useless and plus that left one less character to worry about.

Tifa is much better and her and cloud are a better couple in my opinion.

I voted yes on this one. Aeris's second level 2 limit, Fury Brand, if i remember correctly, fills up her allies' limit guages alll the way. This was extremely useful when i was playing with her in my party and easy to get. Use healing wind 8 times, kill 80 enemies (simple when fighting weak enemies with the all-fire materia combo), and then use the new level 2 limit 8 more times. Simple. That limit break made boss fights pathetic, since i had Clouds Meteorrain at that point. Meteorrain, fury brand, repeat.

I like most of Aeris' limit breaks, but they're the only part of her that I found useful. I tend to play magic-light games and I didn't like her personality, so I rarely used her. Her low attack and defense didn't give me much reason to make her one of only three people. I've used her (with a GS) to fight Emerald Weapon, and I"ve used her Fury Brand limit when trying to level other characters' limit breaks.

My Aeris kicked ass. I loaded her with high Magic Materia, and after a while, her automatically high Magic skyrockets. I easily had her doing thousands upon thousands of damage with summons and magic.

I find her useless. I always use strong attacks and only rely on magic for healing, on very serious cases. I onlyy use the ones from the very start, the Poison, Earth, Chocobo/Mog, Lightning, Fire, and Ice. Then i start to use them all when i get Contain, and Ultima... and Bahamut X.......

I voted not sure... she's usually pretty useless but she has saved my ass a few times with Healing Wind.

Well she DOES have the highest magic.
From what I know Aeris has highest magic and cloud has second highest. I maybe wrong but it's something like that. Besides her defense wasn't that low. I even used to give her cover material just for no reason (or something so I can use heal wind and heal aeris only with items/magics). If you are spellcaster, put her on the back (i believe the spells are long ranged), and she's the type of character you need for spellcaster.
Who cares if she dies fast? FF7 was easy anyway in general ^^

I will be there...

Aeris was part of my main 3 person party with Vincent and Cloud. I found her magic and healing extremely helpful, and her limits were good support moves, like fury brand and seal evil. Fury brand, meteorain, and Vincent as some random kick-ass beast can kill most things in the game.

Also, she's way cuter than Tifa.

It's been a while since i played the game. But it seems to me that her magic and her limits were helpful. She might not be the strongest character, but being the biggest strongest character doesn't always solve a problem. Also, if i remember correctly, she had a good amount of items that had quite a few materia slots and connections as well as some nice free materia that came with her, thus making her magic even more useful at the beginning of the game.

i still stick by my statements. but, the only person i find more useless than Aeris is Vincent. i mean, he cool and all, but it pissed me off when i got to the end and realized the power of his final weapon. you have to kill enemies with it to make it stronger. of course, the only way you'll se an improvment without thousands of battle is to kill really strong monstaers and that's nearly impossible with that peice of crap.

My only real gripe with Vincent is his limit breaks... I mean, you lose control of the character for the rest of the fight, on the other hand if you don't use the limit break you can't attack with him unless you use spells, summons, or items. I can't tell you how many times I've ran into creatures that have a fire element and he transforms and uses a fire based attack through the whole fight and heals them... other than that I'd say Aeris is still a little more worthless than he is.

and there is a funny seen where Yuffie cries over aeris' death and I think that is the cutest part of any video game history

another great point...aeris's role in the game makes you hate sephiroth even more and makes him that much better as a bad guy

Aeris died,

and I praised Sephiroth for doing so(even if he was the worst villain in all gaming). I only used her for Healing Wind. I went through the first disk with her just using Healing Wind over and over and over and over. Hahaha. I plan on getting all of her Limits next time I play through FF7(even though I hate the game).

I voted yes because healing wind was fairly useful and especially fury brand. Fury brand really helped on boss fights my first time though.

I think she's useful. She's a really good magic user and her limit breaks saved me quite a few times. ^^;

Nope, this ... person made the huge error (amongst others)...

Anyway, Aries is a fairly useful character IMO. If you take the time to level her up, she is pretty good.
