Is there a town or city you thought was really cool in the sereis. Even in my opionion a lot of the towns in the FF series are really small but my Favorite town in the FF Series saw Zanarkand before
Possible spoilers: highlight to view I also liked Esthar from FF mainly because it was a town that wasn't 2 buildings, a shop, and a Inn. But I think Zanarkand is the best. Sin Destroyed it at the beginning of the game |

Pravoka from FF1. (thank you Final Fantasy Origins for the image)
When I played this game, I was amazed at the size of the town (it also helped that I got a cool ship there). I don't remember many specifics of this game, but I do remember that town. |

Overall, I would say Midgar. Here are my favorites from each game, though:
FF1: Lefein: It feels great when you can finally understand what these people are saying. FF4: Fabul: The best thing about this town is the music. It’s also a castle with monks. FF5: Kelb Village: A town of wolf people where you learn about the Warriors of the Dawn. FF6: Jidoor: It has the auction house, and in the World of Ruin, it has the best music. FF7: Midgar (especially Wall Market): Slummy ambience. I also liked Cosmo Canyon, but only for the music. FF8: Esthar: I didn’t like the game, but I liked this city. FF9: Daguerreo: It has the best shops, Excalibur, Gilgamesh, and a Namingway wannabe. FFT: Magic City Gariland. You don’t get to explore any of the cities, but I guess I like this one best. FFTA: Baguba Port: Moogle town plus airship port! This post has been edited by Magicite on 30th June 2004 07:10 -------------------- The world before the fall... Delightful is the light of dawn... FF1 (origins remake) - Elfheim. Its pretty looking.
FF6 - Zozo. A haunted town, with cool stuff waiting to be found, and creepy people wandering around? Its like a dungeon, cleverly disguised as a town! FF7 - Midgar. I'm not a big fan of Final Fantasy 7, or of grim and gritty shadowrun-style cities, but the fact that the whole Midgar section of the game was practically an entire short RPG itself gave the rest of the world of FF7 some true persective (you really felt like you were actually leaving home to see the rest of the world, an effect which most RPGs failed to achieve for me). Its probably the largest playable cityscape in any RPG, ever. -------------------- And behold, I saw a Pale Gaming System, and the name of he who rode it was Squaresoft, and Enix followed him. |

Midgar - dark and brooding.
Narshe - filled with goodies. Esthar - Strange, but looks good. -------------------- Don't worry, I'm not going to garrote you. |

I have a few favorites from certain games:
FFI - Elfland: It's all about the elves. FFII - Phin: No particular reason. FFIV - Mithril Town: Pigs, frogs, and miniature people. What more could you want? FFVI - Zozo: Weird, gloomy, and has some pretty cool music that's strange just like the town itself. - Jidoor: Besides rich people and an auction house, it has an art connoisseur who resembles Jabba the Hutt! FFIX - Treno: I enjoy the atmosphere and actually like the card game tournament. -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway. If there is a possibility of several things going wrong, the one that will cause the most damage will be the one to go wrong. - Murphy’s Law Boing! bah silverfork you stole my response!
yes i agree mythril town was awesome, especially the 3 mythril bros who danced for you. somebody put a lot of effort into designing that dance routine and it always brings a tear to my eye when i see it... midgar was awesome tho, just a really cool atmosphere that set up the rest of the game well. |

Yeah, Midgar really set the stage in FF7 and was like a game in itself before you even first reached the world map. So Midgar is my favorite. Next though, is definitely Esthar. That place was awesome. So big and futuristic, the shop place was neatly interactive as well. Also:
Zanarkand, Lindblum, and the Elder place in FF8 off in the snow. Shumi's? That place was so peaceful. -------------------- The clouds ran away, opened up the sky And one by one I watched every constellation die And there I was frozen, standing in my backyard Face to face, eye to eye, staring at the last star I should've known, walked all the way home To find that she wasn't here, I'm still all alone -Atmosphere "Always Coming Back Home to You" |

Zanar/and-FF10
Man oh man, this city is so beautiful. It's the closest thing to a paradise. I even have the Zanarkand cityscape as my desktop image. Zozo-FF6 I REALLY liked the style of the buildings, and the general atmosphere of this town. It really felt like a city that was really dangerous. Midgar-FF7 The closest thing FF has ever had to the g)etto. I generally like the "huge slum shadowrun" city theme, and Midgar fit perfectly. Not only was it the biggest city to explore of any FF7 game, it felt "real", with people living their lives, and the upper azd lower world. Vector-FF6 That moment in FF6 where I saw that scene of the airship flying towards Vector, with it's skylights shining up in the air, I loved this city. Kalm-FF7 The music is really relaxing here. This feels like the first place an adventurer would go to to rest his weary feet. Very slow paced, calming atmosphere. -------------------- //www.rpgmaker.net/ We make games. Period. |

Is Gold Saucer considered a town? I loooooooooooove minigames.
My second favorite is Corneria from FF1, but that's mostly because of 8-bit theater. number three is definitely Eshtar, because it looks REALLY cool. -------------------- Mercy?! I think Daguerreo from FFIX and Esthar from FFVIII would be cool places to live in the FF world for reasons explained above.

The Icicle Inn town, in FF7. I love the music, and the atmosphere, and I love snow and ice scenery.
Other areas are the Macalania Woods in FFX/FFX-2, and Conde Pettie in FF9. -------------------- I had an old signature. Now I've changed it. |

I have to go with South Figaro whenever I hear that music, even when it was occupied by the Empire, I feel sooooo comfortable. Other then that I liked Lindblum in FFIX and Zanarkand in FFX, sweet big cities.

I enjoy Dali Village and Conde Petie from IX. Dali is just so relaxing (especially with the music), and I love the fact that sunlight just pours into every nook and cranny of Conde Petie.

Very slow paced, calming atmosphere. Heck yeah! hanyway.... FF1 - Cornelia FF2 - Mysidia (no, not the one from FF4) FF4 - Tomera Lali lo? FF5 - Tie between Mirage and Library. FF6 - Narshe Where else?! FF7 - Kalm see Tryscal's quote. FF8 - The only place I liked that even remotely resembled a town was Ultimicia's Castle. Luca?, FFX. The one with the Blitzball stadium and the docks and stuff.
Daguerreo, FF9. Cool water place with weird elevators and stuff. Lindblum was huge, great place. Esthar, FF8. Huge place with funky music and a ton of shops. Free Rosetta Stones! Rocket Town, FF7. Just because that guy gets hit by a truck after you beat him. Mobliz, FF6. The fact that it got destroyed and most of the adults killed. Lix, FF5. Bartz' hometown, cool music. Mirage Town, weird place. Toroia, FF4. Cool music, wounded Edward, and frogs. Mysidia! Salonia, FF3. Huge place with 4 distinct areas, and a big castle. FFX, FF9, FF8, FF6, and FF5 had the coolest places, by far. FF4 had a few, as did FF3, but they were few and far between. FF7 wasn't anything special. I hated some of the towns and I liked a small few. Rocket town from FF7. it looks totally different from all the other towns with that "middle of the woods" look to it, has that cool rocket, and its cid highwinds hometown, and hes probably the coolest person ever, fiction or non.
