Underestimating Gau is, fortunately, not something I am guilty of (MAJOR GAU FANATIC). The only big error I made was... playing through the whole game, levelling ALL up to 99, PERFECT save... and I accidentally saved over the slot with a new game! =v.v=

I still never use Gau. I don't like that I can't control what he does.

My very first game I got a sketch bug that gave me unbelievable loot. Infinite Gem boxes, Illuminas, Palidian Shields, Gradius's, and Muscle Belts????. I saved over this game, cause I was like...oh it's a bug and I don't need it. But I miss my Uber party sometimes...I want them back.

Oh yeah, that reminds me of another really really dumb mistake I made playing FFVI. Attempting the Sketch Bug without saving for a pretty long while beforehand and having it not work properly.

The stupidest thing i've ever done on FF VI was on the first time I played it - the game had just came out, so I borrowed it. Unfortunately I never listened to the in-game instructions so I got to the Floating Continent without once equipping any espers.

I let Shadow Die in FF6 and was unable to get him in the WoR. I wound up then getting only 13 out of 14 of FF6's charactars, and would getting the Raknarok as an Esper instead of the sword be dumb as well (I wanted Ultima super badly!!) , because then I could not get the Illumina but yet I still have Exclaibur.

my biggest mistakes we're probably accidentally causing the game to glitch and reseting mid battle because i thought my game was ruined...i lost all those items, all those levels, all that magic, all that time, etc.etc.

I just remembered another really dumb thing I did:
I just found out that if you dance the same dance as was meant for your terrain, you won't stumble!!!!!! I always found dancing useless since it took many tries to complete. lmao -------------------- "Look at me! I'm a receptionist! G'fa ha ha!" Quote Ultros |

It's not really a mistake, but it's surely The worse Bad luck i ever had.
It was the first time i fought Magi Master. Not knowing any tricks to kill him I was having hard time... Then after a While I only had Terra alive at half HP and almost ouf of MP. knowing he was almost dead, I decided to use a Magicite... I'm like damn I really dont have any other choice...I guess... (Even a hit while in full HP could kill her, she was half HP because of Bolt 3 on all party) Then guess wich summon came?!?!?! CRUSADER: terra and the Magi master died of 8000 damage... so great... I almost gave up on getting odin in the castle because when you get your character to the right spot you are supposed to press the A button and I forgot. I got so frustrated I left and only later did i realize "holy crap you haven't slept in a day and a half and have forgotten to press the A button"

My worst mistake is Daril's Tomb. The Puzzle about THE WORLD IS SQUARE. I didn't know what language the riddle was so I had to take the paper and write it down the words. It took me over 5 hours to figure out the right words. Damn you square. Oh that's when I was in 4th grade

I think mine would have to be when I bought the cart, someone had a game-genied save slot, and I accidentally saved over it. I really wish I would have kept it, to just see what was on it and stuff. It was saved like by figaro and everyone was at like level 99 and stuff. I was showing a friend, he still remembers it, and said I almost cried. lol@me almost crying for a saved guy.

I was recently reminded of another mistake of mine, and I really don't know how I could have forgotten it in the first place. Well, like my other mishap I mentioned, "mistake" may not be the right word, but "something stupid and time-consuming that I did" would.
In Cyan's dream sequence, during the flashback where your party pilots Magitek Armor, the "trick" is of course to go back rather than to keep proceeding through Narshe's mines. Easy, right? Well, what I naively did instead should be self-explanatory. Two...hours. I spent over TWO HOURS trudging through those mines, taking breaks every once in a while. Eventually I figured it was either the longest looping dungeon EVER or something was wrong with my game. I was fed up, so I briefly backtracked ONCE on a whim when I started looking veeerrry carefully for clues to get out of there. I don't think I've facepalmed myself so hard since. That was...just sad... -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. If anything simply cannot go wrong, it will anyway. Many Mistakes on the First time through (5 yrs ago):
Shadow died in my game, the bastard told me to get out of here quickly and that he could handle it! Now everyone tells me I did the wrong thing and that I'll never get to see the sequences that reveal his story. I never got any Rages I never got any Lores, or ever used him after the burning house. Same niglectfulness applies to Relm I never bought any of Edgar's tools Never figured out how to Blitz I didn't know how to unequip Espers Mog, Umaro, and Gogo might as well not have existed Never used Runic I never opened treasure chests fearing Monster-in-a-box I missed most of the Espers Terra, Locke, Strago, Relm, and Gau were never found in the WOR I sat there for hours maxing out the levels of my unskillful and poorly equipted party of 5 early on so I just fudged it through. Wow, reading these makes my mistake look sorta small. Well, come to think of it, I did let Cid and Shadow die, and It took me forever, (and the generous help of people on here) to figure out that you talk to the bird in Maranda, and then it will lead you to Zozo to find Cyan. And when I finaly looked at the walkthrough on here I realized just how much stuff I missed. But that wasn't really a mistake.

the first time I played, I didn't wait for Shadow. It took me a while to figure out that he died!

I was trying to un-curse the Cursed Shield, and I played for over 3 hours and fought well over the 256 battle limit, but I never got the Paladin Shield...
I had the Cursed Shield equipped on GOGO, which is apparently a bug and you cannot un-curse the Cursed Sheild if it is equipped on GOGO!! Dumb mistake? Yes. Obscure and frustrating bug? Absolutely!!! |

Locke fans: Since Locke is never on my list for high damage fighters, I always use him to uncurse the shield. Which makes sense, since you only ever steal with him anyway! Good luck everyone!

There seems to be a lot of people that lost a lot because they didn't save their game. Fortunately that wasn't the case for me. My mistake would be not getting Mog's Water Rondo in the WOB.

My biggest mistake was when I was trying to uncurse the cursed shield, I only needed one more battle and than WHAM!!! a bracosaur or something like that used ultima on me and I could start all over again

...you sure about that, ziegfried? Because the battle counter doesn't reset if you die. You would have just needed to win another battle and you'd have been fine.

ha, yeah i was just scrolling through here and notice this f.rum and realized i coul n't pass up sharing a few: (br> )!--spoiler1--> Possible spoilers: highlight to view Possible spoilers: highlight to view the next is equally dumb, but maybe not quite as funny. another friend i had let play my ffvi was talking about the best weapons, and when i mentioned that atma weapon was one of them, he got a funny look...apparently he had sold it after finding it maybe a couple towns later to a shop. he couldn't have made that much money off of it, and i wouldn't (won't) let him live that down for the rest of his rpg days. |
