We all like Link to the Past, but let's face it, the series hasn't been difficult since that game came out. Except for maybe Link's Awakening. I mean, heck dying isn't even a penalty anymore. I do agree about the battles getting easy now, but then again I had a hell of a time hitting that old island man 300 times. I don't think there is an easy solution, they'll have to make up for it with an intruiging plot. Maybe that's why I like WW so much.

You know what they should do, make some of the dungeon rooms 3-D and some of them 2-D, using 3-D graphics of course. The 3-D rooms would play like in the last 3 Zeldas with lock on, camera angles and all that while the 2-D rooms would play like the classic Zelda's with no lock on and an aerial view.

Myself, I wouldn't mind them putting in some side scrolling missions like the Zelda level on Smash Bros. Melee. I think it would be a good new addition to try out.

That trailor makes my toes tingle every time I watch it. As soon as it's put on the mrket I'm getting it. I'll probably pre-order it in fact. Looks like the best thing for Zelda since OoT, possibly even better. This could really jumpstart the GCN with more sales which would definately be a good thing. This is getting me all jittery ^-^

I loved A Link to the Past. This one, though it has better graphics, won't best it. At most it'd tie with it. Hopefully it won't turn out like The second Zelda on NES, that one was insanely hard, I like a challenge, but if you die, you go all the way back to the starting point!
Anyway, that looks awesome! Do you think they'll still include the fishing from OoT? -------------------- Could you repeat that? |

By all things that are holy I can't wait to get this game. The gameplay looks like it's going to be a lot of fun just by watching the trailer. It looks like Link has finally grown up in this darker game. I just hope that all of those beautiful graphics don't take away from gameplay.

I see most here griping about Wind Waker's graphics, but honestly, though I hated them at first, after a few hours of play, I realized just how stylish and slick they were; the cell shading was done perfectly.
Also, I haver heard accounts that Wind Waker's graphics actually most closely resemble how the creator of Zelda had originally envisioned him. Noentheless, I do like these realistic graphics better. I might actually bother to give this one a shot. -------------------- And behold, I saw a Pale Gaming System, and the name of he who rode it was Squaresoft, and Enix followed him. |

Wow... that was a SERIOUS topic bump, lol.
But anyway, I'm quite eager to see this one... I disliked Wind Waker and Minish Cap isn't much better. I liked the older Zelda Games, such a LTTP, OofT, and Link's Awakening (Gameboy). The cel shading just wasn't what Link needed. It looked too... kiddish. But what can I say, I still play the Kirby games... -------------------- Dang. I've been anticipating this game forever. For some reason Wal-mart claimed that they'd have it in January, but they either screwed up their dates, or Nintendo is withholding the game for a bit, because now we're being told "wait 'till June."
![]() Anydangway, I'm infinitely glad that the graphics are realistic. Not that windwaker wasn't a good game, but the graphics really bothered me. Plus I love Epona to bits. Hey, U:OR, where did you hear that the release date was gonna be June? Most of the sites I've been to say Q4 2005, and that's definatley not June. If you could link the site I would greatly appreciate it.

It was no site. My mom actualy called Wal-Mart to reserve a game for Christmas, since she belived it was out in January. Wal-mart called us back later to let us know it was coming out in June instead, contrary to what they had advertised. Perhaps the Wal-mart staffed mixed this game up with another Zelda, but considering my mom requested "The new Zelda coming out soon, with good graphics." I doubt that they'd mistake it for any Zelda's released lately.
Forgive my ignorance, but what does Q4 mean precisely? -------------------- TURKEY! - (The only way not to get blocked for using Fowl Language) |

There's a new Zelda coming out and then there's the remake to 2003's Wind Waker in full 3d and realistic graphics. What's with the Four Swords Zelda, there's like 3 of them.

the only thing i can say is that i hope that there are more dungeons than some of the previous zelda titles
like majora's mask which only had four there needs to be a minimum of 8 like in Oot, link's awaking, and a link to the past also when there is a lack in dungeons there is an increase in heart pieces to find 56 in majora's mask ![]() i liked it in Oot when there was 8 dungeons and 36 heart pieces ![]() in wind waker it was alright, but i still wish there were more dungeons it'd be nice if the new zelda had 10 dungeons and 28 heart pieces to find i'd really like that even if it doesn't the graphics still look awsome, and the gameplay looks great -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

From what I remember, A Link to the Past had eleven dungeons (or twelve, if you count the light world castle), but I agree with you for the most part. I'm all for a healty number of dungeons (as long as they have character and variety, then the more the better) and a lower number of sidequests. I liked Minish Cap (which I just recently finished), but the 48 heart pieces, hundreds of kinstones, and five or six dungeons was disappointing. 10 and 28 sounds like a decent number, if they make sure to have several other kinds of collectibles and sidequests.
Edit I consider the second two GBC titles (Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons) the best incarnations of Zelda there are. If I'm not mistaken, each one had eight dungeons, twenty items/weapons with some of them upgradable, and twenty-four (maybe only twenty) heart pieces. Those are great distributions, made better by the variety, accessibility, and entertainment value of all of the dungeons. Never mind. It turns out that the Wind Waker remake was just an April Fool's Joke. It looked okay, though. I wouldn't get it if it did come out, though... Anyways, I hope there are different weapons in LoZ. Otherwise, what's the point of a lot of dungeons if there's no levelling-up system in it?

Listen folks, The Legend of Zelda is the best series evar, hands down. That being said, not a bad one has been made (by Nintendo). Every one is great, unique, and fun. The Wind Waker kicked ass. Graphics matter, yes, which is why WW was outstanding. The world was alive, breathing, and Link seemed VERY realistic in his expressions and motions. Miyamoto is a ****in genious.
Now, the new Zelda is shaping up to be fantastic. It looks amazing, and brings back the great OoT look (since so many idiots think that cel-shading is bad...dumbasses). The gameplay looks like classic Zelda, along with some new features and what looks like a time-traveling theme. I can't freakin wait until October. I've got it reserved. No game, however, can top LttP. That is my favorite game evar, and the ONLY perfect game in existance. Yes, perfect. Flawless. If a game ever beats it....well, it is almost impossible, I garuntee you. Try if you want, but you'll fail. i agree with you that all the games in the zelda series are great games
all that i was saying was that i hoped that the new zelda would have more dungeons than the previous titles (like in LttP) for instance the referance to majora's mask was that i had wished it had more than four dungeons, i never said any of the zelda games were bad This post has been edited by Cloud_Strife510 on 26th April 2005 00:25 -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

I agree with you whole-heartedly. WW is genious, but I miss OoT and LttP dungeons.
Lets look at a few of the latest Zeldas: -Majora's Mask (2000): 4 dungeons -Wind Waker (2003): 5 dungeons -Minish Cap (2004): 4 dungeons Each dungeon in those games were great, but there were too few. I think that'll change with the new Cube one, not to mention with the one announced for the Revolution. Zelda is soooooo kickass. -------------------- "Dance, water, dance!" -Demyx, Kingdom Hearts II "I met my love before I was born..." -AFI, 'Love Like Winter' from 'Decemberunderground' Currently Playing: Guitar Hero, Shadow of the Colossus |

Well according to this..
http://www.dsrevolution.com/article.php?articleid=191 there's supposed to be up to 70 HOURS OF GAMEPLAY! Being two or three times bigger then OOT. So I think it's safe to assume there will be a healthy ammount of dungeons for play. This post has been edited by Phunbaba on 30th April 2005 19:36 |

Though I won't admit it to my ex, I love Link.
My list goes: LttP, OoT, WW. Many may not like WW, but since those are the only ones I've played, it has to rank third (even though I do like it and may have ranked it pretty high anyways). As far as Twilight Princess goes, I think it looks great. I really prefer adult link, and I like the fact it is a bit 'darker' than some others. Also, Possible spoilers: highlight to view I like that Link can turn into a wolf, one of my favorite animals. It'll be interesting to see how that transformation fits into the game. |

By what i have heard, this is supposedly the Zelda "to top the rest"
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess also has a catchy name, and sounds like the Twilight princess may, as always, involve princess Zelda Jeez...Zelda seems to get into as much trouble as link. The more I hear and see about this game, the more excited I get. From the looks of it, it's everything you could have possibly wanted in a Zelda game and more. The Zelda franchise may well be my absolute favorite of all console gaming for its artistic beauty and flawless gameplay execution, and it definitely looks like Twilight Princess has both of those things. I'm reserving a copy the first chance I get.

I personally think that the title sounds like a porno.
![]() Anyway, I also think that the "Twilight Princess (snicker)" refers to Midna, NOT Zelda. Midna appears female, and Zelda has never played a role such as this in a game before. Saying it's Zelda is far too easy. Unless, of course, Midna=Zelda. I mean, Link goes to the Twilight Realm and meets Midna, a FEMALE. A princess of TWLIGHT, perhaps? I guess we'll have to find out. Twilight Princess........ ![]() Edit I have recently recieved new information. Ok, have any of you heard of the movie Ladyhawke? It's a story of a knight and his lady who turn into a wolf and a hawk, respectively. At night, he is a wolf, she is a human. During the day, he is human, she is a hawk. That said, I should note that the Japanese manga that the film was based on was called Twilight Princess, or so I've been told. Things making sense now? See, whenever Link goes to the Twlight Realm, he becomes a wolf. The pic we've seen of Zelda shows her in funeral garb and a dark sky behind her (the Twilight Realm). There are various pictures of Link with a hawk in Hyrule as well, leading me to think that maybe the idea behind this game was straight from that film/manga. Now, other than that, there is still some other news as well. It is official: TP will have more dungeons and more items than Ocarina. It will be by far the longest Zelda game ever! There are tons of new items (such as the Gale Boomerang) as well as some returning favorites. For more information, check out this month's NP. Later guys. ![]() This post has been edited by Shinjutsei on 24th May 2005 13:20 -------------------- "Dance, water, dance!" -Demyx, Kingdom Hearts II "I met my love before I was born..." -AFI, 'Love Like Winter' from 'Decemberunderground' Currently Playing: Guitar Hero, Shadow of the Colossus |
