i think the red mage is kwl because he is the most diverse, and the oldest next to black and white mages, i think the others are cheap rip-off's (besides black and white).

for me Red mage is a first followed by White mage. Of Course Im a Dragoon too. If I was a dragoon I would dress up like kain from FF4.

I have a question, what kind of weapon would a blue mage use? I know that white, black, and summoners use staffs/rods.

I'd choose red mage, but time mage is a close second, and summoner is a close third. If time mages in FF had the kind of power that their name suggests, hower, it would be a very distant first. However, I'm pretty sure time mages can't go back in time and kill their foes before they are even born yet, so I pick red mage. still, riding Bahamut, or a pheonix, or some other summon would be awesome. But I prefer destroying things myself, if can heal afterwards.

I would be a Black Mage so i could burn burn burn! Flare and Ultima are the two coolest spells in Final Fantasy, ever!

I'd have to say Red Mage, as in FFV when you can double cast. But the beauty of that lay in having another skill set to double cast with. My second favorite is Blue mage. They get the coolest spells! (lvl spells, big guard, white wind...)

time mage for sure. i'd be playing goalie in hockey and then poof i cast haste and holy doosh buckets id be able to block EVERYTHING.
besides being able to stop time would be a nice little skill. heck the time mage in ff5 got a few cool spells as well like comet. |

I would like to be a Red Mage. They are the best physical fighters of the mages and the combination of White and Black Magic so totally reeks of awesomeness!

1.A Black Mage doing Flare, if they have contain magic like break, freeze, tornado(which they don't I think) oh my favorite is death and Ultima!!!!
2.Well, curing is good and stuff well it's be perfect when I do holy as well!! 3.And being a summoner cool get to summon friendly spirits to help me in battle!! Blue Mages rule (and they can usually use small swords knives staves and shields).
For me, Red Mages come in 2nd. If I was a mage I'd want some balance with real physical abilities, so that's why I like Blue and then Red. Blue takes the cake because of the exoticism- ooh, tons of unique and interesting spells.  -------------------- Get me off this Disciplinary Committee so I can play any FF except for FF8!!! |

I voted for time mage, but a close runners up were blackmage with his many strong elemental attaks(fire3, ice3, bolt3)

I would love to be a Red Mage cuz of the diversity, but, the strange skills of the Blue Mage appeal to me... Nnnnargh! Can't choose...
Well, I'll go with Red officially, since Blue Magic is a lot harder to get, potentially fatal to try and learn, and have the spells aren't as useful as you'd hope. -------------------- And behold, I saw a Pale Gaming System, and the name of he who rode it was Squaresoft, and Enix followed him. |

Red Mage for sure. Decent attack power, ability to double cast spells, no having to worry about getting decimated by enemies before learning anything, it's all good.
Now if only FFV's Red Mages could draw two spells from from any kind of magic without the level-3 restrictions, it'd be awesome. "Eat Flare and Holy, jackass... or Flare and Meteo... or Holy and Bahamut... or two Bahamuts."  This post has been edited by LadyRed on 10th July 2004 04:04 |

Obviously the blue mage takes the cake here, since he has the best of every mage. He has good defensive spells (white wind, big guard, auto life in FFIX, etc.) and also great offensive spells (depends on which game, but u cant beat shadow flare from FFVII). Plus, blue has a few other unique spells so you dont get bored. Hes got my vote.
