Alright, I just beat Hunter the Reckoning and to be what seemed like such a cheap made game it was actually pretty darn good... the story line was a little cheesy but the game play was good and it was a slight challenge (depending on which character you choose for your journey). So I was wondering if anyone knows much about Hunter the Reckoning: Redeemer (for the XBOX), or Hunter the Reckoning: Wayward (for the PS2)... I kind of want to buy another one but I don't know if it's a series like most others where the sequels suck... suggestions anyone?

What system is the game you played for? I didn't know there was more than one Hunter game.

My boyfriend and I got Wayward for Christmas, but we haven't played it yet. happy.gif I'm sorry that doesn't help.

The original which was the one I was playing is only for Xbox and Game Cube, I have it for Xbox. Wayward is only for the PS2 and Redeemer is only for the Xbox. I'd actually like to get Wayward for my PS2 but I'm not sure whether or not it would be all that good... the way the controls are set up for the game make it seem like it would be a little uncomfortable on a PS controller.
Edit
when you you do play it let me know how it is please... If you liked any of the newer Gauntlet game then you'll probably like Hunter since the camera and fighting is set up the same

I'll keep that in mind, but you haven't made me want to play it very much. wink.gif I don't really like action games, and I didn't like any of the Gauntlet games. The person who gave this to us knew we liked the tabletop RPG upon which these games are based, but from what you've said, it sounds like the point and mood of the console games are completely counter to the point and mood of the White Wolf game.

I think it's more like the Baldur's gate console series w/o the shops and D&D background. The graphics and play are definately alot tighter than the gauntlet games which pretty much amounted to button mashing.

My only complaint with Hunter is that there are so many bugs... like when you play with the Judge you can fire his cross bow and if you are in the right spot at the right angle, every once in awhile you will see the arrow pass from one side of the screen to the other but then it's like there is a loop and it pops out right behind you and goes across the screen again, and once I had to restart a level because there was a pillar in the room and the camera angle auto changes so the camera went right through the pillar and got stuck there. Over all I think it's a good game, I just think they should have worked all the bugs out before making the game. As for the difference in the "table top" ( I've never played it myself)", but
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
a friend of mine told me that a character that insisted in the game that you call him Carpenter, in the table top ended up being Joseph from the bible (hence the name Carpenter... since Joseph was a Carpenter) which was the father of Jesus. In the game he played a decently good sized roll and just ended up being the damned soul of some convict that was killed in the electric chair named Nathanel Arkady.
So, needless to say the game is different, from what I have heard anyway... that's just the original though. I don't know what kind of story Wayward has.
Edit
I bought Redeemer yesterday and beat it in about 4 hours... not a very long game, but the first one wasn't long either... I'd say it was better than the first one, but it takes place ten years after the first so you wouldn't know what was going on unless you beat it.

Edit
Got Wayward in the mail... don't waste you time... it sucks ass... the controls ruin the game completely... Playstation should stick to RPGs only.
