It's a nice little translation of your avatar character (don't hate me for not knowing her name) into a limited colour palette. My gripe: the colour palette is far too limited for a SNES game, let alone FFVI.

Look at the other menu pics—their detail as far as shading is quite a bit more intricate. Furthermore, its style doesn't mesh with those of the menu pictures actually in the game. Functional, but not fitting I suppose.

Add some more shading to it, perhaps tweak the shape of the face so that it is more serious looking than anime looking, and you have yourself a winner.

One thing that I would suggest as far as the shading is to download one of the menu sprites off of CoN that has a skin tone that you would like to use, and use that for the palette of your image. Also zoom in and look at how the in-game menu pics are shaded, and try to mimic the style.

Might be a tad time-consuming (trust me, I know it can get dull implementing shading pixel by pixel), but the end-result could potentially be one that looks completely as though squaresoft itself put the sprite in—that is what I would strive for: a sprite that looks as though it fits into the game.

I would, Wish_Hacker, but at the moment I am rather swamped with work at the moment. And, truth be told, I have been focusing more on other areas of art lately. My gallery can be seen on devART at the following link. I would love it if you were to be able to check it out and perhaps leave some comments there (if you have a devART account) or in a PM here. If I ever do have some free time for some sprite goodness, I'll be sure to let you know.
