Hello there I was playing through Daryl's Tomb today (where you find the airship in WoR) and there is a room with four tombstones, four letters inscribed on each. They are as follows:

UARE ISSQ

ORLD THEW

I wrote them down, thinking they might be the key to some puzzle. But then I noticed, if you put them in this order:

4 3

2 1

It says: THE WORLD IS SQUARE

neat huh? Did anyone else notice this little easter egg?

In case you didn't know, you can inscribe those words somewhere else (left of the entrane of the 'major' tomb). You'll hear the game over music "Rest in Peace" and you'll get a hint to where the Exp. Egg is hidden.

Also, just for the heck of it, from Sky Render's readme:

The original (Japanese) puzzle is a curious and very amusing bit that reads "rest in peace" one way, and essentially says "rot and wither" the other way.

Japanese humor, I guess. Since there's really no way to translate a joke like that into the English lanaguage, the opted for "the world is square", a joke that still cracks me up after all these years, since that too has a double meaning.

First off, there's Daryl, who flew higher and faster then anyone else. Assuming she flew so high that she indeed saw the entire world below her, she could've somehow discovered that the world is a square overworld map.

Also, since the game was produced by Square, the world of Final Fantasy VI/III *is* Square.

And was so shocked at that discovery that she crashed. =Þ
Edit
Whoops, idiot moment. Yes, it was flat, and no, it probably wasn't Columbus either, thanks for both corrections. Probably shouldn't have skipped history class so much... pinch.gif
