As many are aware, Nintendo has ported a few of its classic NES games to the Gameboy Advance. Some of these include The Lengend of Zelda, Excitebike, Donkey Kong, Bomberman. Apparently, Nintendo does not plan to stop there. On Nintendo of America's official site the company had posted a survey asking gamers which other NES games they would like to see on the Gameboy Advance. Nintendo had a pre-compiled list of 40 games to chose from. Survey participitants may have also chosen up to three games that were not on the list of 40.
The NES Classics series retails at most stores for $20 US. ------- I think this survey was a cool idea. I just wish Nintendo would have let people choose more than three games that are not on their list of 40. As for my three "wild card" choices, I selected Tecmo Super Bowl, Chip N Dale: Rescue Rangers, and Bad News Baseball. I can't remember all of the titles that I chose from their list of 40, however. A few that stick out in my mind are Kid Icarus and Skate or Die. I'd probably actually buy a few of these if they costed a bit less than twenty dollars or Nintendo packaged more than a single title on a cart. I heard about this in a issue of Nintendo Power, I figured out why they didn't do Final Fantasy, it is ccoming to GBA with FFII. So it is basically origons on GBA. 20$ seems like a okay price, at least not 40$ like some GBA games. They could be sold in a set of 5-10 or Mario Bros with DK for 25$. Also what I just said bout bundles are a suggestion they could have done.

This actually makes me want to get a GBA, but the other games that I'd pick probably wouldn't make the list. The one I'd most like to see is Willow, but I don't know anyone else who's even played it.

I went to the poll link and it told me that they were no longer collecting information. When I get the chance though I'm gonna go to the store and buy the original Mario Brothers... IMO it was the best in the series.

Well, I just happened to be playing River City Ransom with a couple of my friends, and I'd definitely like to see that title re-released. I still don't think I'll buy a GBA, but it's definitely cool that they're doing this.
Of course, the original Metroid should be added to their list. Maybe they could do Hudson's Adventure Island (still haven't beaten it ![]() -------------------- Get me off this Disciplinary Committee so I can play any FF except for FF8!!! |

My problem with this is the price, I still have some NES games so I don't understand how they can charge more than $10-$15 a cartridge for classic games, seeing as I can still buy An NES + games at a pawn shop for a fraction of the price.

This is true, but the only problem is that the old NES games that you buy in the Pawn Shop or a game store are 98% of the time, used, and the new Classic NES for GBA are new. I'm sure they would be almost as cheap if they were used. You have to account or the fact that they have ported it onto a new system as well (which to me is no excuse but to them it is). -------------------- Climhazzard is the timeless evil robot who runs some of the cool stuff at CoN (mostly logging chat, since there are no quizzes at the moment), all the while watching and waiting for his moment to take over the world. -Tiddles |

I don't like the idea of these games costing more than the originals. But I do like the idea of remaking old game for the GBA
I always thought it would be cool to make them on GCN, but I saw what they did with Legend of Zelda's remake. -------------------- I fear my heart and fear my soul Life goes on, it surely will, Without me and I wonder: Will I ever see light again? Life goes on... |

This is a pretty cool idea IMO, a bit overpriced, but whatever, at least now I don't have to worry about dusty carts and corroded contact points
![]() If I could have one game ported to the GameBoy Advance it would be the original Metal Gear, albeit with an updated save system. Another game I would like to see is a little known game called Little Samson. It was a megaman style game with 4 different characters that you can switch in and out at any time. Trully a classic that deserves a second chance. -------------------- <Nealio> Seymour sounds like evil Winnie the Pooh |
