I got the idea to post this after seeing FradulentTommahs Desktop (still shot). The movie Pi is one of my all time favorites. And I would just like to know if anybody else has seen this movie and if they enjoyed it.
Pi is an idependent film shot in black and white. Its about a lonely mathamatician and his search to discover the the true meaning of Pi (the mathematical equation, not the pastry). I like that movie a lot, it's actually where I got the idea of what my desktop is.

I liked it a lot. I thought it was pretty cool for an art film, even if I can't stand it when people theorize about one simple mathematical solution to life, the universe, and everything. (Clearly, the answer to that question is 42, not pi.)

i, for one, didn't care much for the overly pretentious nature of the film. then again, i dislike most scientifically or mathematically based films for the exact same reason. i suppose it was a decent *film,* but it tried too hard and focused to much on depression.

I thought Pi was kind of stupid. It was cool at first because the story and the way the movie was shot was really offbeat, but the novelty wore off. No offense to anyone who liked the movie. We're all entitled to our own opinions, right?

Sure we are, at least until you offend someone. But it doesn't look like you crossed any PC boundaries there, this time.
How does that saying go...? "You can have any opinion you like, as long as it's mine"? Oh yeah, the topic... never have seen the movie in its entirety, but from the snippets I have seen it seems the sort of movie I'd enjoy immensely. This post has been edited by xanadu33 on 31st May 2004 04:23 |
