What games have you played that just piss you off so much that you want to take a baseball bat to your game system?
There is only one game that has done that to me, and it resulted in a hole in my bedroom wall. The game was Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution Moderator Edit You could at least try to watch your mouth in topic titles, couldn't you? -R51 Sorry, R51 ~ King of Chocobos This post has been edited by King of Chocobos on 5th May 2004 14:11 -------------------- kweh! |

Virtua Fighter 4 has frustrated me as well. Other games that get me going are:
Tony Hawk (only when I don't do well, which isn't often) Gran Turismo (getting 2nd place in a 2 hour endurance race is probably the most irritating thing in the world) Splinter Cell (The save points are just too far apart ![]() -------------------- <Nealio> Seymour sounds like evil Winnie the Pooh |

The 7th Saga. Both of my SNES controllers have this strange raddling noise in them when I shake them because of when I used to throw my controller in frustration about travelling so far, and then getting whooped in one battle because I had basically no luck. This happened many, many times. To this day I can't stand the Coccoons, Mutants, and pretty much every monster after the time warp that you basically have to Vacuum to oblivion to win.

Yeah, Super Mario Bros.3 and Ape Escape (series). When I played Ape Escape 2, I lost a life when I was really far in a level and I threw my controller at the ground and it cracked at the bottomn a little bit, but it still works. SMB 3 was just ungodly hard, but I still beat it a few times.

Although I love playing them, Breath of Fire 1 & 2 have always frustrated me. There is like, no help with that game! Unless u use a walkthrough, alot of the time u get no hints on where to go! Besides that, Battletoads Double Dragon, was pretty irritating, even though it was fun. The ship level (where ur the lil ship in space) was SO IRRITATING.... I remember sitting in front of my T.V for like 4 hours, (on a weekend) trying to do hat ONE LEVEL, dammit that was agrivating....
lol, it's funny cause i did like these games, they just had there really agrivating parts. -------------------- Link: "What is it?" Mario: "It's coin, what the hell does it look like?" I'm a fighting game devotee, so anger management is a constant topic of interest for me.
![]() God Rugal in CvS2 was a pretty tough cookie, with all of his quick juggles and priority cheapery. But he's a walk in the park compared to Shin Mr Karate from SNK vs Capcom CHAOS. His moves cancel pretty much everything, he has the highest priority fierces ever, and dig this: his super specials don't even flash. That's right, there's no delay whatsoever between the time he decides to use the super and when the move is actually executed onscreen. There's no excuse for that. Of course, there's always the righteous indignation I experience when I go to the arcades and see the same old adolescents mopping the floor with those tired high-priority Magz/Sent/Storm teams in MvC2. Frustration in other genres come from shooters, mostly, particularly of the R-Type variety. R-Type 3: The Third Lightning put me into more tantrums than I care to admit, especially after I beat the game only to get a new "hard mode" with twice as many enemies that fire twice as fast. Ugh. -------------------- "I always have a quotation for everything - it saves original thinking." ~Dorothy L. I can't really think of a game that has really frustrated me all that much.
If anything, I'd have to go with either Myst or Shenmue, since it takes forever to me to find out what to do next. I've never gotten angry at a game before though, unless the save file erases itself. |

Diablo II royally pisses me off sometimes, especially when the server lags when I'm in the middle of a huge fight, which basically leaves me dead. Retreiving my corpse is a pain because I'm nothing without my equipment, and I want my gold because my equipment is high maintenance.

Very very very very very very very very Shinobi. I still haven't completely beaten that game (like beat the super difficulty). In the past, I've said as many swear words in a few hours as I would have said in a week. Fortunately, I've trained myself to be more like the ninja and suppress my emotions.

Vagrant Story. It's the only game you rack up more hours paused in menu than actually playing. I simply love how the final boss is invulnerable and attacks every .00004 seconds.

Games don't anger me, but a few certain aspects that have placed me in mild frustration.
Super Mario 64 - Control is bad PSO - takes so long to do so little Time Stalkers - SEE: PSO FFIX - Hippaul and Jump Rope FFT - SEE: PSO (though this has more to do with levelling up) StarCraft - Chapter I, final mission. I cannot remember how I originally beat that Lords of Magic - Very difficult. Computer players advance MUCH faster than you possibly can Any Fighting game - They're all the same. With the exception of SSB, the ones that show something new get boring quickly -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

Wild Arms frusterates me sometimes. When you're trying to get out of the castle without running into a guard. Or just in RPGs in general when I'm just trying to get somewhere to advance the story and I keep hitting enemies. I generally react with a toss of the controller and the yell of "I hate this game!" Which of course is never true because I still continue to play it. Fire Emblem also makes me mad sometimes because it can just get so rediculously hard.

Revenge of Shinobi, that game is just unbelievably hard and long, i don't know why i even played it in the first place. Also, FF6 has given me some irritated moments, like when you fight the Air Force (the boss you fight after Ultros and Chupon) I died on that thing more times than Kefka himself!

hmm...where can i begin. the latest NFL Blitz made me mad. this game was a great, amusing, and fun arcade style football game. when they took out all the violence and replaced it with regulation NFL rules, it became no more than a hlaf-assed sim.
next up we have Devil May Cry 2. the original was perfect in my eyes. it was all about thrashing your enemies and looking good while doing it. DMC2, on the other hand, was far too linear if you ask me. not only was the cool factor set to a low 6 (as opposed to the 9 from DMC), but the game's textures looked rushed if you ask me. every survival horror game that utalizes bad camera angles. i know the developers think that they add to the overall scariness(uhh...yeah) of the game, but they only serve to hinder your progress at every given interval. You can't see what you're attacking, the angles switches just as you're tryin to get somewhere, and the enemies are always just off screen. -------------------- moé in the streets, senpai in the sheets |

Mystical Ninja, although I loved that game the part where you are the guy that can shrink and you have to sneak into this one guys house then there is a baby that throws dynamite on you, while you are in a cuboard, and you have to avoid the dynamite for 2:00 was INSANELY hard (at least for me). one time I survived until there was one second left then I died.

Wild ARMs 3 was practically impossible to beat without a strategy guide, so that peeved me a bit. The only other games that annoy me are the Shrek games series (because they all blow) and E.T. for Atari, because it's horribly, horribly crappy. Atari games are usually crappy, but when you play a game like E.T., it will bring a whole new meaning to the word.

Any American sports games that hit the top 10 of the chart in the UK. Its morally wrong... we are supposed to be playing Golf, Football, Cricket, Rugby, or sticking a traffic cone on a statues head.
But, on the flipside,Footie games like FIFA, ISS, and the like, i hate them MORE! If you want to be a football fan, go to your local stadium, or buy a management game, or play it yourself. However, Cricket Games are just a crime agaisnt humanity like the sport and really should be the cause of massacres. This world would be beter for more Rugger players, a few more Footie fanatics playing the game, and a few more people with golf clubs. Final Liberation in XP kinda gets irritating when it keeps crashing, but its ok, its the precursor to Dawn Of War. I can live with it... Chaos Gate, it crashed too on 98. But it had a major irritant: you start with 50 marines, and thats it. no more replacements in the game. Whilst thats great and backgroundy, its not a very fun game if you dont know that. however, it makes it all the more tense and better to try and play with 0 casualties... Enter the Matrix: mainly on account people i know think its better than Max Payne 1 and 2. why? Bullet Time's limited in Max Payne, so its much more valuable. From what i hear, EtM has it unlimited. And in addition, the "cheats" now mean theres like 40,000 13 year olds thinking ' i am a leet haxxor!'. Spawn (the old PS1 one) and Tunnel B1. Both awful games, both didn't tell you what to do. Also, both were nigh-on impossible due to lame controls. -------------------- "Only the dead have seen the end of their quotes being misattributed to Plato." -George Santayana "The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here..." -Abraham Lincoln, prior to the discovery of Irony. |

Quote (Dark Paladin @ 16th May 2004 22:26) StarCraft - Chapter I, final mission. I cannot remember how I originally beat that Very easy. Just build a number of siege tanks and a few bunkers on each entrance place where guys come from. (Up the ramp, left side and right side). The comp's mass infantry fall like nothing, and then you can just build up. If you have problems trying to eliminate the comp still, just build BCs. ![]() I am also angered by Dynasty Warriors if I had gotten far and then all of the sudden died against one of the last generals.
