First, I'll move this to the errors/troubleshooting forum, thanks.
Tiddles and I will need to know more about your system to troubleshoot it. What browser and what version of it do you use? What's your OS? Can you tell us any more about what it means to "not work?" Does it load a blank page? Does it crash your browser? We can help with more information, but we need everything you can give us. And, as a parting to this post, I can tell you the same thing we tell everyone: If you're actually serious about participating in IRC chat here or anywhere else, download mIRC. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? Or perhaps buying a really good looking shirt? |

Quote Caves of Narshe Chat Sorry, you need a Java-enabled browser to use these applets. Either download Java and install it into your browser, or obtain your own IRC client. I'm runing Windows XP SP1, Internet Explorer 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2.030422-1633 i downloaded the java program. don't have any problems as i can see with that.. i dunno what's wrong.. i'll try mirc. If the old secondary client works but the main one gives you that message, I have no idea what's going on. Can't pass up an opportunity to suggest ditching Internet Explorer in favour of Firefox, Opera or pretty much anything else, though.

I'm having the same issue, all of a sudden.
This computer is running Windows XP with IE as the browser. Is there some sort of setting that I have to mess with in the Java control panel, or anything like that? -------------------- Veni, vidi, dormivi. |

We tested the new one on as many browsers as possible before we launched it, and we had it running on every one. These issues are baffling to us, honestly, but we're going to look into them soon.

At the moment it seems that the following combination has issues:
Sorry for the inconvenience. UPDATE: The main chat page now has a checkbox for "backwards-compatible mode" which should work for this configuration. Please try it and let me know, even if you've found another solution. You can't get to this from the sidebar quickchat though, and you won't be able to resize the chat display.
