Offering = Changes "Fight" command into "X-Fight" (Wearer gets 4 attacks vs multiple enemies)

Genji Glove = Equip a weapon in both hands and recieve 2 attacks per round

Offering+Genji Glove = 8 attacks per turn

Don't be fooled though, it's not necessarily 8x times your damage

this is because the offering halves your damage and makse you hit 4 times, thus with offering + genji glove, it's like 4x times your damage, unless you would normally be hitting for over 9999 and it caps you, then you're approaching some seriously high numbers.

I used mostly

-Sabin (My all time favorite)

-Edward (Couldn't leave him out)

-Cyan (Believe me, if you spend time leveling him up...he's AWESOME)

-Terra (I mostly used her for Healing and support, and later, I used her for bigger magic)

It's only a matter of what your style is...so there's no wrong set...I perfer Using Strength other than magic...

I sometimes used Locke and Mog...but not as much as them 4...

For most of the game I had Sabin and Cyan for physical power, with Locke and Edgar for mage support, back-up physical attacks, and teefing/toolage. This was my Fab Four Kefka-kicking party, but by the time I hit Kefka I'd lost Locke, Edgar and Sabin to the three-tier battle before, leaving me with Cyan with Offering, Terra with the Gem Box and a Gold Hairpin (wasn't lucky enough to pick up an Economizer), Genji-gloved Shadow ready to toss out half my inventory on a moment's notice, and a very hurt Celes with 999 MP. Kefka was down in three rounds. =Þ

I would have to say that my ultimate party is:

Shadow - I mean seriously, with the Genji Glove and the Offering...

Edgar - his tools totally slaughter

Sabin - How can u go wrong with blitzes?

Gogo - He mimes either Sabin or Edgar, total massacre thumbup.gif

My team:

Sabin, Locke, Gogo and Kappa.

I don't know why more people don't use Gogo, since you place Blitz on him which is why people like Sabin. I use Locke becuase I love to steal, and Kappa (your favorite character as an Imp with the imp items.) An Imp with the offering, and either Marvel shoes or a Genji glove is unstoppable. Kappa is there just for kicks, and is a very powerful addition to the team. I usually keep to Sabin, Locke, and Gogo though, and let the fourth spot vary depending on what I need to do.

I never figured out y everbody likes Locke so much. His physical attack is too weak and his only use is to steal. Even with the theif glove, it doesn't work often.

-Relics: Exp. Egg
Hero Ring

LOCKE- He's my favorite character, so naturally hes in my party (with the best stuff God could send me)
-Equipment: R-Hand-> Illumina
L-Hand-> Cursed shield (old file of mine, my comp file had paladin)
Head---> Genji Helmet
Body---> Genji Armor
-Relics: Ribbon (for the cursed shield)
Zephyr Cape

CELES- She, in my oppinion is the best female character in the game so..yeah
-Equipment: R-Hand-> Graedus
L-Hand-> Genji Shield
Head---> Oath Veil
Body---> Genji Armor
-Relics: Earrings
Economizer

TERRA- My best Magic user, basicaly the back up of the party.
-Equipment: R-Hand-\
> Man Eater

I'm surprised to see so many people using magic and magically powerful characters. I only use magic to heal and mess around with the monsters. I never use Celes, and only ever use Terra for her Morph, making her Illumina attacks twice as strong!

Why don't more people use Gogo? You can but Blitz on it! Which I believe to be the most powerful and useful of all abilities. Mantra, Wind Blade, and Bum Rush, with BR you can beat most bosses in a mater of seconds. (in fact, I can beat Kefka with each of my best party members attacking once). 10 for the final boss, not bad. wink.gif

My favorite party isn't my favorite cuz of all the fancy equipment and relics i have equipped on them, it's mainly because of two things:

They're at higher levels than everyone else
They have learned the most magic

Those four are Setzer, Sabin, Edgar and Celes, thumbup.gif

Well, Merlyn, he actually becomes a force to be reckoned with during the WoR if implemented correctly. His steal command, through leveling, becomes far more effective. Its effectiveness is, from what I understand, purely based on level. So, by fighting around and gaining a few levels, you better his chances of stealing rarer items. A sneak ring also helps a bunch.

Here is one reason to use Locke in the WoB: On the floating continent, there is a random encounter enemy that presents a wondrous opportunity for those with Locke in their party: the Dragon. Now, the Dragon is a rare encounter with a very rare steal. A successful steal command will either get an Elixir (I think), or a GENJI GLOVE. So, if with a good deal of patience you can increase your Genji Glove collection substantially. I normally don't leave the floating continent until I have around 4-5 stolen gloves myself.

If you know when to bring him along for rare stolen items, he is quite the keeper.

Locke - Mostly jus' 'cuz I like him. But I also use him for magic supprt, and Genji Glove + Theif Glove = 2 chances to steal. Booya.

Sabin - Bum Rush. Need I say more?

Gogo - Bum Rush 2: Annihilation. He also knows every spell any of your characters has learned, which makes him a great magic caster.

And I used to stuff Mog in my last slot, but then I realized, hey. I only use him for dances, and half the time I'm wanting him to use Sun Bath or something, so I can have Locke stealing stuff before I kill off the monsters. Not the best implementation, ya know? So, now I've got kind of a void here. I've started using Cyan recently, but I'm not really that psyched about him either. So, I guess you could call it more of a fab three for me.

I'm in the same boat, I was just looking up Strago's Lores, and they're very powerful, but I wouldn't use them in the normal fighting. I'm thinking wither Cyan or Shadow, I'm a big physical mega-damage guy. Either those guys, or Umaro, who you can't control.

Crap, I forgot Relm, making it easier to steal things when you control a monster. Not so annoying holding back hell while you get Bit$% slapped while trying to steal the next best item. That or Edgar for noise blaster.

1) Sabin - Blitz...nuff said
2) Edgar- gotta love that chainsaw
3) Gogo- who wouldnt like to have a shrouded freak with them?
4) between Cyan (i heart the swordtech) or Terra (i never morphed with her but the magic was always helpful)

i remember i had all of those guys with all the spells and the best levels and weapons and i was screwed at kefka's tower cause i put all my weak guys into a party and they kept dying pinch.gif

From beginning to end, my best team is: Locke - you can steal powerful weapons/armor/items usually before you can find or buy them if you're wiling to use his steal command every time you can get rich selling the relics, armor,etc he steals. Edgar - his tool command makes him invaluable from the beginning of the game to the end (esp. drill, as it ignores defense
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
kills cactaurs in one hit
. Celes & Terra - their magic (esp. cure) is useful at the beginning of the game, and later Ultima kills.

I chose my characters out of personal favorites. The game is just too easy, theres no need to try and build the best.

Cyan
Locke
Celes
Sezter

Is my usual team.

I've walked around the floating continient for a half hour before encountering a dragon, and when I do meet one I never get the glove. I am astounded you usually get 4-5 gloves everytime you go through the game. I have wasted my time in several play throughs trying to steal them without ever being succesfull. Is there any trick/location to encouter the dragons more often?

I agree with tony that this game is just too easy once you've played it a few times. There is just so much "rare" equipment to give to your charactes, plus most special abilities/spells are basically overpowered. Just for the topic's sake though, my last time through these were my "fab four" against Kefka:

Celes
Gau
Relm
Sabin

There are several tricks that can only be used to a usefull extent when the game is being played on an emulator. For instance, the emulator allows you to save everywhere, including mid-battle with for instance a Dragon. That makes every encounter a guaranteed Genji Glove (can take a bloody long while, especially when I'm having Shadow only).

So yeah, unless you want to go out and have a life now and again, I suggest you don't linger around until you have stolen 4 Genji Gloves.

But we'll want to go back to topic now.

Hey, the only time I feel its neccessary for a powerful group is when I hook myself up with some of those awesome monster patches out there. It keeps me going ;D

That would be (for me):

Shadow
Terra
Sabin
Cyan
