Umm...Just checking to see if anyone like me uses the same strategies....in FF6.

I'm mostly for Brute Force, attacking and using Special Attacks to decimate my enemys...

Brute force and special attacks. Bum Rush, Drill, Cyan's swordtechs...heh.

I use relic+weapon combos, my favorite being:

Relic : Blackbelt
Relic : Genji Glove
Weapon : Drainer
Weapon : Atma

I don't use much magic except as cheap healing.
I voted brute force/special, but I feel it's a bit different.

Weapons and other free ttacks. Usually this ends up being bru0e force, but for some c,aracter" (e.g. Gau) this may be red or blue magic.

I voted Status effects. Brute F.rce works too well in this game, and you've pummele the bejezus out of everything before long. Nah, I'd rater set insi&nificant status ailments like Blind and Seizure on the arget. he more you see of the enemy battle script, the more yo1 learn.

Even then, somre are just plain pathetic. Ice Dragon can be Muddled and P*isoned and Blinded and Silenced with a single Sour Mouth. What's the fun of that?

That seems like an interesting concept, but I like fighting too much, it's good fun.

Anyways, my vote was brute force, my groups are generally all "brute" like... Shadow, Sabin, Locke, etc. only one that's really magical that I use much would be Mog, and that's just because he's awesome

I find that for the majority of the game (assuming you dont use Vanish/Doom) you can get by with flying colors if you use special abilities. They are very powerful and don't cost MP.

I voted for brute force, but I usually start off with a magic spell to slim the ranks and then I boogie down with swords and Tools and all of the other physical goodies.

Brute force, I guess. No real point to status effects or whatever when you get to a high enough level. Wasn't there a poll exactly like this a little while before? Maybe I'm confusing this with General Squenix.

Pretty much magical pwr. my gembox-quick-Ultima combo is what I use most, sometimes I use spc. commands.

Why fight, when you can pearl them into oblivion?

I'm really cheap with my MP, and save it for bosses or really difficult battles. I like to mow down the enemies with brute force, but occasionally I'll use support spells like silence, sleep, etc.

I had an old signature. Now I've changed it.

Magic, all the way. My best team is Terra, Strago, Relm, and Gogo (Who has Lore, Magic, and Item as his abbilities.) As you can see, I like to blow junk up. >:D

I would have to go with Brute Force, though I always keep a healer in my party. The main factor in my decision, at least this time playing through, to use mostly brute force was that I stayed on the Floating Continent until I had 5 Genji Gloves (a completely mind-numbing process, let me tell you.... I had to sit around waiting for the rare battle formation containing a Dragon then cross my fingers while using Locke's CAPTURE command, hoping that I would be lucky enough to get a Genji Glove).

So, at the moment, I am using the following team (I have yet to pick up Locke in the WoR.... I like to pick him up last as, for me, the WoR has always seemingly revolved around finding Locke):

Setzer: Genji Glove + Offering + Fixed Dice + Doom Darts
Shadow: Genji Glove + Memento Ring + Stunner + Striker (or Graedus)
Gau: Snow Muffler + Merit Award + Tempest + Stray Cat (or Retainer)
Celes: Pumped Up Magic (Zoneseek + Tritorch leveling) + Gem Box + Economizer

other characters:

Cyan: Genji Glove + 2 Stratos
Sabin: Genji Glove + Blackbelt + 2 Tiger Fangs
Edgar: Dragoon Boots + Dragon Horn + Pearl Lance

When I get Locke, He will be using:
Genji Glove + Running Shoes (or Sprint shoes... whichever one casts Haste) + Atma Weapon + Illumina.

one word everything! i null voted because i use whatever fits my mood, ultima may be my box of chocolates one day, while whoping someone wit fight maybe my next, while i feel like slaughtering someone with tools or blitz the next and so-on

It depends. For normal battles I use pure brute force and physical special abilities. For boss battles, or if I'm in a hurry to get somewhere, I'm all GemBox+Economizer - Quick, Ultima/Flare/Pearl/Lvl3 Element, lather, rinse, repeat.

I only use magic for the healing spells, or to screw around with the enemy. The damage that magic can inflict is far less than the "free" special abilities that different party member have. In my mind, magic is only good for the effects it has. Haste, xfer, imp, (which I occasionally turn a monster into when I'm experimenting with).

I usually end up using physical force to just slaughter the enemy. I only use status effect magic when i want to torture the enemy(and cure magic when needed).
