First of all, let me preface this by saying because these are characters I would like to see dead, that means the character designers probably did a good job designing their personalities (unless they are characters I'm "supposed" to sympathize with).

1. Algus, FFT - I think they wrote him pretty well to make you hate him.
2. Quina, FF9 - Useful character, especially if you do the frog catching, but seems to have an unplausible motivation for following Zidane around the world (he wanted to try different foods?).
3. Tidus, FF10 - A combination of whiney and arrogant. It's funny if you're talking about Gilgamesh, but not if you're talking about the protagonist.
4. Edward, FF4 - A valiant runt, considering he's about as whiney and helpless as one can possibly imagine.
5. Kino, CT - Insecurity personified.
6. Seymour, FF10 - Admittedly, he uses pretty evil methods to manipulate people, but these methods were first done (and better done) in FFT.
7. Impressario, FF6 - Almost as whiney and just as helpless as Edward.
8. Dycedarg, FFT - Lying through your teeth to your brother is no mean feat.
9. Clasko, FF10-2 - More than a little whiney and helpless (again), and a somewhat creepy relationship with Chocobos.
10. Pierre, CC - An impressive combination of arrogance without actual skill.

Dang you all. Yuffie was my favorite character. ^_^ I even have her for an avatar. ^_^; If you don't like Yuffie, then you shouldn't like Rikku from FF10, weren't they pretty much the same?

Well I could think they're weird for hating Edward, Cyan, Banon, the Mysidian elder, Doan, Strago, all of Mysidia, Cids, Tellah, FuSoYa, Aeris, Rosa, Red XIII, Setzer, Cara, Celes, and Umaro, but NOT the Turks and Sephiroth (except one other person).

1. Yuffie- I despise her. Some whiney teenager. She says the exact thing to get under my skin almost every time i see her.

2. Tidus- What were the programmers thinking when created this guy? He looks gay (I'd say it was mostly the blonde hair), he's arrogant, and show offy.

3. Elena from the Turks- She's too gung ho.

Her name was Eiko, and yes, she WAS annoying. Caused me to want to break the game. I agree w/ angry lizard . EIKO WAS very USELESS. ( and so was veryone else in FFIX )

2. Irvine (FF8) just a stupid guy in my opinion, though I know he's a great marksman. Always good but that's it.

3........Ican't do anything at the time for 6 because of that fanfic I made (Afterstorm) and that wouldn't be fair in some people's eyes. Oh well...

And as far as Squall goes, yes he's annoying but he's also a good character toward the end, but still not much. And I thought Zell was...pretty...cool...I guess...

Here goes:

FOR CHARACTERS I HATE DO TO PROBLEMS I HAVE WITH THE CHARACTERS:

Sephiroth (FF7) - Just because they guy has a big sword and is a bishoneny samurai, everyone automatically gives him the bad-ass award for all FF's. Yes, he did some terrible, villainous things, but the places and people he destroyed were but a fraction of the horrors Kefka and even Ex-Death performed. That, and I believe his motivation for villainy was a bit too shallow. I just don't see why exactly he wishes to destroy the world. I would credit Sephiroth more if they had made him more believable, and if so many people didn't just take him at face value. It just ticks me off when people claim he is the greatest RPG villain ever. In my mind, he's up there, but he's no where near as great as everyone says he is.

Aeris (FF7) - Nevermind her typically girly attitdue. What gets my goat is her typical girly attitdue despite "living in the slums" all her life. Seriously, if Aeris had been exposed to that life style for that long, I really don't think she'd have as passive and sweet and attitude as we see. She seems a little too naive for her environment.

Cloud (FF7) - His whole headtrip/unknown identity thing was poorly executed, and his character development came in sudden jumps most of the time.

Squall (FF8) - His character development, like Cloud, came in sudden spurts and jumps which made you do a double take.

Seifer (FF8) - The guy had no real development, no real focus on what he was doing, and he tried so hard to be a bad-ass, and failed so miserably. The writer's really screwed up what they were trying to do with him.

The Cast of FF5 - There is almost no point distinguishing between them. Faris and Galuf were about the only characters who showed any sort of real personality and character development, but that's not saying much. I know the emphasis was often more on the gameplay than the story in FF5, but seriously, FF4's characters have more personality and much more depth in most cases. I find it hard to believe they couldn't have made characters just as deep and lively in a later game, you know?


FOR CHARACTERS I HATE AS THE CHARACTERS THEMSELVES:

Edge (FF4) - He's just a jerk. Leave Rydia alone, you pervert.

Yuffie (FF7) - You %&(@*%% thief! I killa you hard! (No, don't do that, she's useful in battle!) Aw, crap.

Cid (FF8) - Dude, seriously. You create this powerful army to battle this powerful sorcerous, but the first chance you are forced to realy use this army in a serious struggle, you dump the responsibilty on Squall, then go hide. You are the very definition of spoony.

Cid (FF6) - This guy needs a clue or a better act. All that time working for the Empire, and he did his experiments while "never noticing" all the atrocities that were going on? Please. Stupid callous scientists... they think they're so big, just because they can invent doomsday devices that'll destroy the entire planet...
And then, when he tries to make up for his wrongs, its too late to do anything about it! Argh! When will they learn?

The Turks (FF7) - Just what are these guys trying to do? Kill me or make me feel embarrassed for them?

Jecht and his wife (FF10) - What a bunch of asses. Seriously. Couples like that shouldn't have children. The sad thing is, there a plenty of people in the real world who are like that, and who do have kids, and then it makes them all worse off. Tidus' parents serve to remind me of this, and it ticks me off.

I don't want any of the characters to die, but characters I could have done without are:

Irvine-Seriously, how ridiculous, flat, and one dimensional can a character be? He did have one scene at Trabia Garden that gave him some depth, but that's the only exception throughout the course of FF8. He could have almost seamlessly been removed from the game completely. But, he looks kind of cool. I guess.

Zidane-Yuck. What a worthless excuse for a protagonist. He just as bad as Irvine. I really hate characters who think of nothing but girls. Actually, just chunk FF9 completely. While it was cute at some points, you could tell it was thrown together very quickly, because it shows.

Tidus-his whining reminded me of Luke Skywalker. "You're....not...my...father!"

Cloud-Overrated. EXTREMELY Overrated. This guy looks like your average run of the mill Super Saiyan. "My head hurts! OWWWWWWWWWW!"

Tifa- Oh God, Square why this? Why'd you have to make a character into a Hooter's Girl?

I dunno If I have 10, but here goes.

#1: Rosa, FFIV: Rosa suffers from the cliche "I'm the innocent, weak, feminine healer who really does nothing more than act as the main charecter's love interest."

#2: Edward, FFIV: Yeah, this guy got to me too. The only good thing that came of this guy was Tellah's classic reaming out of him, which lead to the "Spoony Bard" thing.

#3: Palom and Porom, FFIV: I may have liked those kids if they had only stuck around longer. But Weakness + Very little except annoying bickering for the duration of their game time = One glad me when they got turned to stone.

Now I remember why I don't play FFIV that often

#4: Umaro, FFVI: This guy really had no use for me. I don't like Berzerker charecters, no matter how strong. Plus he had NO STORY. Just a few grunts. I wouldn't have missed him had be become a primate pancake at the end of the world.

#5: Strago FFVI: I never really bothered to get Lores. There was magic for that kind of damage. And taking away the lores, that makes him as strong magicaly as Relm or Celes or someone like that, and I really prefered everyone else's charecters to him.

#6: Cloud FFVII: I don't like his charecter at all.He was too angsty and his look was rather boring. The sword was cool, granted, but I liked Sephy's better. He wasn't at all endeering to me, like Locke, Edgar, or even Cecil.

#7: Aeris FFVII: She too suffered from the Rosa syndrome. Ya know, I like my healers, really. Raine in TOS was one of my favorate charecters, But Raine had attitude, where as Aeris has this "Daisies and Hugs and Rainbows for all" sort of thing going on. I hate it when they make female charecters (Who are rare in early FFs) Into wussies.

#8: Cait Sith FFVII: Before I even played this game, one look at this charecter made me think, "Oh god, that's going to be such an annyoing charecter." Playing it confirmed this. Send the monstrosity back where it belongs.

Huh, Two away from ten... Ah well. All in all most FF charecters are tolerable at least, but there are always the few that would benifit the game greatly by being brutaly massacred. Only Aeris is kind enough to do it.

1. Sephiroth - Shallow, the complete opposite of intimidating, a bad collective rip-off of a whole bunch o' previous villains, and sports hair that I can't look at without becoming cockeyed. He's also boring. Very, very boring. Not to mention the fact that his "motives", his whole reason for even trying to destroy the world, and thus his entire reason for being in the game in the first place was because of something that wasn't even true

2. Tidus - Wait a minute...you hate your 'old man'? I didn't catch that during the last eighteen whining fits.

3. Cloud - I never saw much to him, really. The angsty-to-softy transition (which I hate in the first place) wasn't pulled off well this time around, in my opinion. Plus, he's an ass for a good portion of the game, so I can't say I enjoy having him around a whole lot.

4. Aeris - I think Square pushed the "sweet 'n' innocent" thing a little too far here. A pink-clad, white magic using flower girl who hangs out in the church and saves the world with Holy. Gag me. She dug her own grave the moment she appeared.

5. Chancellor of Figaro - You're supposed to be involved in a plot to overthrow the kingdom, damn you -- it's in the Chancellor Rule Book! You disappoint me, man.

6. Yuna - In X-2 more so than X. I just don't like the idea of being on a journey the will ultimately bring back a character who was better off dead...and having to hear about it each time she has an inner monologue. In X all that really got on my nerves was her William Shatner way of talking.

7. Krile - Galuf, you ain't!

8. Rikku/Yuffie (tie) - I really don't see much of a difference between them other than one stealing items from monsters and the other stealing Materia. They're both more annoying than I care to tolerate, though.

9. Rinoa - So persistant and clueless...

10. Edge - A useful ninja, you ain't!
