Ok... In the FFIV Trivia, there's a talk about PornaMag(???). I have no idea what this PornoMag is, and can someone tell me?

It's in the Programmer's Room or something. It's only in the Japanese version, the US version edited out the whole Programmer's Room.

"The FF4j has the elusive Programmer's Room, located beneath the Pub in Jiott's Castle. You could go in here, receive the Porno Book (which when used, made the screen turn red and your character blush) and even fight the programmers. This room was (obviously) removed from the NA FF2."

That should clear it up.

Maybe because it was on a Nintendo system, and they thought it would be too "inaproriate" for the U.S. version.

Actually the US version cleaned it up drastically, since Edge was a lot more foulmouthed and there were hints to Cecil and Rosa sleeping together throughout the Japan version that were cleared out of the US version. I'm sure there were other things as well.

i hate editing down to editors, it steals the storyline and it makes me feel childish. no one cares that edge was foul mouthed, and that the two were sleeping togeather.

The porno mag was in the PSX version of FF4. Although I believe it was called "Dirty Mag" or something. Don't worry though, you're really not missing anything, if you click on it in your inventory, it dosn't flash naked pictures of rosa or anything, it acctually does nothing at all.

well there is a way to get the porno mag in ff2, but you would have to use cheats to get it. and it's called Dummy. and when you use it. it does the same affect as it did in the japanese version but when the text box comes up.. it comes up with "D".

I have found it, the developer room was not taken out in the FFChronicles FFIV.
I found it only because FFIV happens to be my favorite and I remembered that.

That mag was the highlight of the game for me...

i thought the porno mag was a cute stab at the developers.

the office in which you find it was designed to look like a few of their workstations. (ive seen pictures of the staff when they were making it)

bottom line ist hat the psx version is way closer to the original ff4J than anything else. have fun.

What is the fuss over a dumb item that does nothing and happens to be called a "pornomag". I've just never understood why some people complain about being unable to find it. (What is there to find?)

To be fair, the PornoMag doesn't do NOTHING, per se, the screen turns red, the music changes (though i can't remember to what...was it the CalcaBrina music?) and the text box says YOU'RE GETTING EXCITED!

...You know, reading the majority of the posts in this thread, I'm hardly surprised Nintendo didn't consider it appropriate for the english version of the game...

It's a shame most of the items were removed, though. Granted, FF2e was the "easytype" version of FF4j, but some of the items hardly had any impact on the difficulty (such as the alarm, which would've had a major use in getting PinkPuffs to fight you.) Yes, the porno magazine too; but that was removed for entirely different reasons.

Cecil says something either literally mentioning or making reference to the fact that he and Rosa have slept together before.

I also recall someone asking whether the programmers did anything interesting to their sprites, as well as the response "no".

Well, I don't know about the original version (I not speaking japanese very well, meester... )
However, I do recall Rosa saying (literally in the beginning of the game) when she first appeared:
