OK, I have another idea for a Flash toon. The current project is being done nonetheless, but I'll need some more practice before I tackle the MegaMan-Samus one.
So here's my idea: I get a song and animate a bunch of FFVI characters doing various stuffs and whatnot. But my problem is that I don't listen to music a whole lot, save for a few select groups. So I need help selecting a song to go with the Flash movie. Every one suggested here will be looked into and considered before making the final decision. Ideas for a song? And one last thing, a question for Ranger: when it's completed, can I submit it to CoN as fanart, or a fanmovie, or something? EDIT: After a bit of thought, I nominate "Bring me to Life" by Evanessence, but I still don't think it quite fits. I'm gonna go listen to music for a while, so I might hear a good one. I'd say 'Still Standing' or 'Funereal Song' by the Rasmus, or maybe just 'In the Shadows'.
Other stuff i can think of is Late goodbye by Poets of the Fall, and Take me Out, by Franz Ferdinand. -------------------- "Only the dead have seen the end of their quotes being misattributed to Plato." -George Santayana "The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here..." -Abraham Lincoln, prior to the discovery of Irony. |

What exactly are you looking for? Something upbeat or something that sounds similar to FFVI music? Do you prefer instrumental or vocal? I have a ton of instrumental stuff if that's what you're looking for.

If it's instrumental music you need, Download RPGmaker 2003, they have so much music in that package...

It really depends on what kind o' movie you really wanna produce. If you wanna slapped down an action style to it, I suggest MushroomHead, Slipknot, KoRn, or any of the mainstream rock of today (80's works really well too). However if you wanna slow it down real good. I suggest some of Evanescense or even some crappy Emo crap...I really really really hate Emo

I like crawling in the dark for a flash movie. It can parallel Terra's search for acceptance and understanding.

OK, I guess I hadn't made myself clear.
This is going to be what you would call an FFVI tribute. The music is solely for the background, and just scenes, art, some Flash drawings done by me, some of the PSX ingame movies, and screenshots will be coordinated with the song. I prefer vocal songs. -------------------- Wow. 1,000 posts. I miss you all now that I'm in boarding school! ;_; |

There's a general FF Tribute on the net including IV, V, VI, VII and VIII which features The Offspring, "Staring at the sun".
So you probably don't want to use that song, even though it's perfect for it. -------------------- |

I suggest, "Best I Am" by Flaw (It would work for Celes, maybe Terra)
or "Crawling in the Dark" by Hoobastank, like Gambler suggested (u did mean that song rite?) Maybe even, a Linkin Park song, but it all depends on what type of FF6 movie u plan on making, a sad moment, or a fight, whatever. -------------------- Link: "What is it?" I recommend the Beverly Hillbillies' theme song. I think it would be great. I'd give you an excerpt of what I had made up in my head, but I seemed to have forgotten it already. =/
It was awesome though ------- [EDIT] ------- Oh, nevermind that. I thought you were going to make up a song about the FF6 plot. For a good theme, I recommend 'Lithium' by Nirvana. Or: Disarm - Smashing Pumpkins Learning to Fly - Pink Floyd Blow Up the Outside World - Soundgarden (Kefka...mwee, hee, hee!) I doubt any of would fit, but I can dream. >=] This post has been edited by Shotgunnova on 9th May 2004 22:03 -------------------- It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck can change |

Funeral Song and Still Standing,The Rasmus, and Late Goodbye, Poets of the Fall fit that bill, IMO. but LG is from Max Payne 2... but if it was focusing on terra, Rasmus again to the rescue (YAY FINLAND!) with 'not like the other girls' But i suggest Evanescence, Whisper, if they don't work. If you wanna hear some of that you haven't ehard., i think if you have AIM i can play it via mic quite well. But i'd put on an English Accent to disguise my scotsmanness. It Really depends on the mood you want for all of this, if you want it just for background purposes i suggest sticking with something purely instrumental, you could find some great strange jazz, such as Thelonious Monk or Horace Silver that would probably work very well. It seems everyone wants to make their music videos darker nowadays with all this linkin park and Evanescence, but if that is the kind of image you are going for i suggest some Tool, perhaps Aenima. I say go for some All my friends, by The red hot chili peppers, or Sympathy for the Devil, by the rolling stones, if you want lyrical content.

I'm pretty sure I'm going with "Crawling in the Dark" by Hoobastank, but I'm still open to suggestions.

"Vow"-Garbage.
Its a good song with a mix of tempo and sound- and the lyrics are kind of linked to FF-6. The chorus line "I nearly died" is neat as a link to the characters, too. |

A Modern-Day Song? Hmmmmm....
I can think of some classical / baroque music to put to certain characters. For example, Bach'g Brandenburg Concert No. 6 Move)ent III (Allegro) would fit well with Setzer or Edgar. In a battle scene, I would suggest Mozart's Requiem, K.626, Dies Irae. As far as modern songs, I don't know if you are going for comical or serious approach. I guess I have some suggestions: "'Til I'm Laid to Rest" by Buju Banton's background melody sounds as if it could go well with a Gau song. "Djobi Djoba" by the Gypsy Kings would be a great song for a celebration scene. "Born Blippy" by Underworld from the Trainspotting soundtrack could definitely be fit into a flash movie. "Pilgrimage" by Nine Inch Nails is a very haunting, eerie sounding march song that could be used for either the Empire or Kefka. "Battle Without Honor or Humanity" by Tomoyasu Hotei from the Kill Bill soundtrack would also be very fitting. I have a bunch of other suggestions, but must head out for the moment. I will add them later. -------------------- Je ne t'aime plus, Mon amour... Je ne t'aime plus, Tous les jours... |

King Crimson is so RPG-like it's not even funny. "Starless" sounds very FF6 at quite a few points.
