I like the chainsaw because it does more damage than the other tools and it can cause an instant kill against some enemies

Auto-Crossbow: big damage to all the enemies

I went with the Chainsaw. I never really used any other tool with Edgar, it's such a marvelous tool, isn't it? Huge damage, Edgar gets to wear a helmet, and you can have an instant kill.

Noiseblaster. I mean come on, have Edgar do his thing, and then the enemies turn around and start beating on each other. It's not only helpful, it's humourous.

Edgar's Tools were fantastic for the most part, and I used a good deal of them. They're a great source of damage early on, and continue to be one of his best offensive options throughout the game.
I think I liked the Chainsaw best, simply because the damage was great. Second place would go to the Drill, and third to the AutoCrossbow, which was a quick and cheap source of damage to all enemies early in the game. -------------------- "I always have a quotation for everything - it saves original thinking." ~Dorothy L. I always liked the Chainsaw. Because when battling really annoying foes I always knew they would die a mangled heap of flesh. Except Ultros I wanted to kill that ugly octopus and send one tentacle to each town and hang the head up in the Falcon.

drill, easy to use, strong, non-elemental.
Although it's not strongest tool, others have risk like air anchor misses a lot, chain saw doesn't work on undeads , etc... my second one would be noise blaster. I mean, how evil is that? better than wasting MP to cast wimpy "confuse" spell. And this is also has multiple effect! I picked the Autocrossbow. Good damage early on, not to mention attacking everyone. I also liked the Chainsaw, but it sucked against bosses seeing as how instant kill doesn't kill bosses and in that case it would probably be a wasted turn.

The more times I play through the game, the more uses I find for the debilitator, to the point where I use it first in any fight that's going to last more than one round. A lot of times I forget what a moster's weak point, so instead of wasting a turn on scan, which may not even reveal a weak point, I just create a new one.

I beleive you were actually referring to the bio blaster. An honest mistake. ![]() I also chose the chainsaw, with the auto crossbow in close second, not because they had good effects, but because Edgar would look severely badass holding them both in either hand. Think Army of Darkness. -------------------- *END TRANSMISSION* |

However, when the Chainsaw goes in for its patented one-hit kill technique (which doesn't happen often, and misses most of the time), Edgar does put on a Friday the 13th Hockey Mask while attempting to gore his enemies.
As an afterthought, I can't believe I forgot the NoiseBlaster! That really saved my bacon against Dadaluma, during the Narshe invasion, and in various other enemy encounters. -------------------- "I always have a quotation for everything - it saves original thinking." ~Dorothy L. Chain Saw, followed by Auto Crossbow. Both are very usefull through out the game.

For everyone saying that they like the Noiseblaster against the soldiers in Narshe, try using the Bio Blaster against a group of four.

I would go with the drill...
The fact that i didnt find the chainsaw until id already completed the game is beyond the point...[i think...] |

Chainsaw by far throughout most of the game but in the early stages it is definatly auto-crossbar. Most useless is gotta be the debilitator, i rarely use it and when i do it makes the enemy weak against something i don't have

The drill is his most reliable weapon in my opinoin. It just won't miss as much or screw up as much as the chainsaw.

I also have to say debilitatior. The fact that you could dedicate one turn to scanning for a weakness, or one turn creating potentional for big damage was always a big plus in my book.

I dunno, depended where I was in the game. I know, however, that I would never have gone through the Narshe invasion mini-war without the Bio-Blaster. With just Edgar and Terra in one party, not easy to kill four troopers without taking damage. Bio Blaster killed all of them in one shot...
A second place for me would be the debilitator. God, I wished I had Edgar in my party when I was fighting Doom (I think that was him, the one that constantly changes his weakness.) I drained his MP when his weakness was Pearl. No one in my party knew Pearl, and no Aurabolt either, or Alexander. And all I had were 2nd class Magic Users... Bah.... |

Drill Big damage, Ignores defense. That always helps a lot.

I went with the drill. It's much more reliable than the chainsaw, especially against bosses. Nothing more annoying than having 5 rounds in a row where he tried to do the "auto-kill" chainsaw and it doesn't work.

Bio Blaster aint gonna stop 'em from whuppin on your ass should any survive, and I do believe that flash does even more damage while having the added option of blinding the oppenent, which is closer to the goal of not getting ass whupped. Â I think I'd rank it sixth maybe...past debilitator and drill. Â I would've like it more if it had that neat color scheme Terra has when she's in magitek armor w/ her BB equivelant.

But the fact that it usually kills them all, or definately weakens them to one hit more death is enough to not really care how much they hurt you. Tonic + Potion + Terra + Celes = All the cure you need.

Well, it does more damage, yes. The Dark ailment only prevents Strago from learning any Lores, it has no other function. It's one of the many disabling effects of the Evade bug. If it worked though, it would cut hit rate in half. -------------------- |

Too bad you also don't even HAVE flash when you face the soldiers in Narshe.

And that Bio Blaster doesn't leave any of the soldiers alive to begin with....I am confident in taking a party with simply Edgar to take out all the primary soldiers, then leaving him behind with the other group of Locke and Cyan while my main group of four, Terra, Celes, Gau, and Sabin, takes out the rest of the forces, or better yet, skips them and takes out the Rider and Kefka. But I've never used the Bio Blaster on those four soldiers and had any remain afterwards. -------------------- Hey, put the cellphone down for a while In the night there is something wild Can you hear it breathing?
