In order to help maintain the high quality of Final Fantasy games, Square Enix has moved forward the release dates for the next installation of the series. Originally to come out in Japan this summer, it will be pushed back a few months.

The game should arrive on American shores sometime between this winter and next spring.

I'm a little disappointed to hear this, but the delay isn't by that much. The game will still be coming in due time, and if they want time to get quality, that sounds like a fair deal.

I'd far rather wait for a game than get one that was only partially done. The first release of Silent Hill 2 and the PSX release of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night are prime examples of why.

Take a day, take a month, take a year. I don't care. Take as much time as you need to make it as good as you possibly can.

... and here's a 3rd for DP's motion. I didn't play FF6 in the same decade it was released in, but it didn't change the value of the game. If Squenix takes a crazy long time I'll just get around to playing FF2 FFT and Chrono Trigger.

Well this is interesting. I always felt that Square should take more time with their games. It just seems like they're pumping them out way too fast lately. The more time they spend on FFXII the better! It's just like Gran Turismo 4. That game has been delayed at least twice but it will be absolutely amazing when it's finally released. Patience is a virtue.

Oh, and it is for the PS2 Adma.

I would much rather just wait and get quality then have them release it early and disappoint us all.

I am a little bit dissapointed about it, but maybe it will be worth it, delays aren't that bad to me.
