The Effect Mage, definately. My foot has been injured for a VERY long time, and running was out of the question. Now, just the idea of running thrills me. And imagine the speed! While casting Slow2 at your surroundings, you keep yourself Hasted. The wind in your hair, the world becomes blurry lines...nobody can reach you...nobody can catch up with you...

Hey, you're right. Time Mage it is. I got confused with Effect Magic, which was in my (as in: used by me) FF V the translation for the Time Mage.

I'd be a black mage, but I wouldn't dress up like a Vivi-style black mage. I'd dress up like a Sorceror, but learn swordfighting and carry a sword. Take that!

time mage. yeah, you black mages with your flares and you summoners with your bahamuts are impressive, but wait until i unleash METEOR, which is (sorry, gmh) a time mage staple. that and by the time you tried to cast a spell on me i'd be waaaaay out of your casting range
 then again, effect mage (ala oracle) wouldnt be bad, either. while you're chanting bahamut...about to summon him form the firey depths of wherever...*silence.* then, while you're unsucessfully trying to scream obscenities at me, *petrify.* make a good decoration for my garden out back ^.^ |

Time mage. I'd be able to caste Haste on myself and become Defensive back for the Steelers, or cast Slow on Big Show just to be mean, although you can cast haste on Big Show and he'd still be slower than a drunk snail....

I would be a Summoner, but I would summon how Yuna summons so the Aeons I summon could stay with me and fly me around, and whenever I was loney I could just call on one to keep me company.

I'd be a Blue Mage because of the uniqueness of the magic. If I'm a Strago type BM I could learn other types of spells also.

A note on Meteo: it depends on the game.
I don't know about FF1-3j, but in FF4, it's the ultimate BLACK magic spell. In FF5, though, it's the ultimate DIMENSIONAL/TIME magic spell. In FF6, Meteo is a BLUE magic spell, technically, even though Strago can't learn it. (FF6 also has Meteor, which is simply counted as offensive magic.) And in FF7, isn't Meteor (note the R) the ultimate BLACK magic? Comet was an offensive spell (although given no designation as to black/white) in FF4. I would categorize it as Black, though. Comet in FF5, though, is definitely Dimensional/Time magic. One more thing: in my first post, I was thinking of the FF4 Meteo. Unfortunately the damage cap was set at 9999. (Oh what fun it would be to watch your enemies being creamed by 18746 damage each!) Summoner. I liked the idea of conquering the summon in order to get it, and all of the games had that to some degree. For the other magics, you buy/level up/wear. Summon magic seems like you do more to earn it, and gives the image of control.

SUMMONER!!!! i would love to be able to call down beasts such as bahamut, or ifrit, or leviathan!!! it would be so cool (and i would also love to be able to summon alucard from hellsing but that's a totally different thing)
