Mog isnt here because he doesnt really fit in to the spellcaster category. On my cartridge though, he was the first char to learn every spell

Gau is my favorite caster. It's cool how he can take a step away from his wild boy image to cast a regular spell. Plus I love his casting sprite. I always boost up his magic power to aid him in regular spellcasting and to increase his rage casting power.
Quote Most of his blitzes are quite magical. With that idea in mind I'll say that most of Gau's rages are magical. He's the first guy to cast level 2 and level 3 elemental spells through rages. My point? Gau is a good spellcaster! ![]() -------------------- FFXI (Siren server) Tauu the Windurstian Tarutaru! White Mage & Paladin |

Celes might be my favourite character, but Strago is my prefered spellcaster. Why? This guy can do everything (magical, that is). Have him learn all the spells (black, white, grey, blue) and then equip the gem box and economizer on him..... whoooooo, this guy's cooking.

I must vote for Terra. High magic power and the morph command helps.. I think. I don't know all of the mechanics of morph, despite having played the game since forever.

Oh! And another note that was brought up by another user.. Gau! It's enjoyable to have him cast magic and live up to his introductory profile. You know.. "eyes shining with intelligence!" I mean.. maybe he's a genius if he can learn all those enemy skills like that.

Relm. I mean, it's not like Sketch is even remotely usefull, so offensive magic is the only thing that makes her worth the space she occupies.

As a pure spellcaster, Strago's definitely my favorite. He gets everything everyone else has, and then when you add on spells like Revenge, Grand Train, Forcefield, Step Mine, Dischord, all the Lv. spells, etc., it's just no contest.

I'll go with Terra or Strago...because I usually pick Terra in most polls, neglecting how I think that Strago, too, is a really cool and really powerful character, this time I'll vote Strago.

Wow, strago? I thought no one liked him... lol, He's ok though, I like his story, and he's a cool character, but I don't think I've ever gotten more lores for him then the 3 or so he starts with, and he isn't included in the 12 I send to kefka's tower.

I generally avoid using magic because it is in limited supplies (MP), so I save up to use everything against the boss.
I vote Strago, because he has every type of magic available to him. Plus, his Cure Rod saves me every time I go to the Floating Continent. -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

Sabin, because IMO he has a good magic power stat and it would be such a shame to let it go to waste. Besides, Sabin is my favorite character and has always been my best, followed up closely by Setzer.

I'd say that Strago is the best spellcaster, because of his lores as well as all the other magic.
As for the best spellcaster that I'd use, I'd have to say Sabin, because I had him with most of the curative magic as well as having semi-magical blitzes. If this counts, which it probably doesn't, I'd say overall Gogo. Although he isn't a direct spellcaster, which is why he probably won't count as one, he can mimic every other spellcaster's spells/lores/blitzes/etc. ![]() |

Hmm...Gogo?
Mimic, Magic, Lore, Blitz Quick, Ultima, Meteor, GrandTrain, Bum Rush, Mimic (mimic Io rage (Flare Star), Retainer rage (Megahit), Stray Cat (Catscratch)...woohoo! So much for people who think Gogo sucks!) I never thought of making Gogo a spellcaster in those terms before. Well, I did think of putting those commands on him, but I never thought Blitz could be counted as magic...I guess it can. But does it really use the magic power stat? -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. You can find me on the Fediverse! I think that characters in FFVI that have high Bat. Pwr. usually have lower Mag Pwr. stats, but character I use with high bat. pwr. often have a small selection of magic (such as Edgar and Mog, wait Mog has a good selection!).
