What do you think is the best anime movie ever?

There is no anime as good as Akira. If akira were the basis of a religion, i would be a high priest.

It's a hard tie for me. For drama, I would have to say Princess Mononoke. For adventure, I'd have to say Spirited Away. For comedy, I would have to say Nihao! My Concubine (Ranma 1/2 movie).

I liked Akira too, of course, that would be best for freaky supernatural type anime ^-^

You have to go with the fake poser style disney version. I actually enjoyed the plot of Spireted away. It was SOO wierd and enjoyable at the same time.

Like Elena, I too liked Princess Monoke. I liked the whole idea of that kid gaining strength with the power of demons and all. I also liked Endless Waltz as well.

The original Vampire Hunter D is definitely my favorite film, even though some of the scenes still make me cringe. The animation style and the character designs are awesome, and the action sequences are fantastic. Bloodlust was ok but not on the same level.

"My neighbour Totoro" is one of my favourite movie, but I have to say that "Akira" is, to my recollection, the first anime I ever saw, and the one that made the biggest impression on me.
In the old classics, "Kamui" by Rin Taro, wich I consider the ultimate ninja anime.
I also have to include also "Grave of the Fireflies", wich remains as the only anime who (almost) made me cry.

Heh, looks like I can't pick my favourite between them (and I didn't even stated that I love "Spirited away" and "Princess Mononoke"...I'm a hopeless otaku)

Fist of the North Star is a classic. So is Akira. And others that I really can't remember that they used to play in the mornings on Sci-Fi. I'll go with Fist, noone has mentioned it yet.

Ninja Scroll has been a favorite of mine for many years now, Jubei is just an awesome fighter. The art was very well done, and the story ain't half bad either.

Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust was much better than the original in my opinion. The original's story was too drawn out for me to enjoy it as much. The plot was much tighter in Bloodlust.

And last, but certainly not least, Knocking on Heavens Door(Cowboy Bebop Movie) was excellent. It's one of those movies that anyone can watch and enjoy, even if they're not a fan of anime.

Heh... me too. Anyways, I forgot about endless Waltz. That is first, followed by spirited away. I've always loved almost every Gundam, 'cept for G.

Akira is the classic for me 'cause it still retains it's uniqueness after all these years. A close second would be My Neighbor Totoro and Grave of the Fireflies.

Well... I am an anime fanatic and I find it difficult to pick a favorite. However I am a rabid Inuyasha fan and so I pick The Love that Trancends Time! Mushy title but that movie is nothing short of awe inspiring. It is in japaneese unforutunatly but you can get it with subtitles so its ok. For any other Inu fans I have a feeling it will eventualy be brought to the US.

1. Akira - I love Akira. The story was great, the action was great, and the animation was the most fluid and perfect that I've ever seen, I think.

2. Princess Mononoke - This was just a really good movie for some reason.

3. Endless Waltz - Even though I've never seen the actual series, I knew exactly what was going on and why. I'm hoping it was because of good storytelling and not because of predictability.

The anime movies that I have seen mainly comprise of the DBZ and Sailor Moon movies that Cartoon Network has dished out.

So my favorite one is Princess Mononoke, one of two that I didn't see through CN.
My second would be Spirited Away, the other one I didn't see on CN.

These change every month or so, but there are a few classics that I never get tired of. My favorite right now would probably be Mobile Suit Gundam 0090: Char's Counterattack. I never get tired of the awesome designs, fantastic plot, and cerebral ending.

I've been wanting to get that! I'm sure it'd be on my favorites list, since I really like Robotech and everything.
