There is no reason to think that there will be an FFT2.

Welcome to the forums. But try to tone down your posts a little bit, would you?

It's Tactics Ogre, by the way, and there are two. I personally like the PSX one (LUCT) much more than the GBA one (KoL), and LUCT was the original basis for FFT (it came out first in Japan, for the Super Famicom, which we call the SNES).

I doubt that there will ever be a FFT2. There's already a FFTA.

It's possible that there may be one made, which would be kind of cool since it'd be on the PS2 or some newer system, but not anytime in the near future.

That's a shame. FFTA in my opioion wasn't really good at all. They should make a sequel to FFT, and make Delita the main character. Anyways, just ignore my continous ramblings.

FFTA was a bit too different in my opinion, rules to battles? who the hell is this judge? why is he here? what is this intro story, bah, only reason to play it is because it's remotely like FFT

A FFT2 on the PS2 with PS2 graphix would be really nice...although I highly doubt it will ever happen. I can't think of any reason they would make a FFT2.

If they made an FFT2, they'd ruin it. Ever since the merger with Enix, Square has only made kiddie crap. Cases in point: FFX2, FFTA... QED, baby!

I believe that they're actually referring to a direct sequel to FFT, not a 'parallel' like FFTA...

An fft2 would be great but it should follow Ramza's kids.

Ahhh man... Forget it. If FFT2 does really was created, it's a unanswerable question.

Anyways, there's nothing that a bunch of 'ninjas' with 'math skill' that could do 'death' from 'wizard' job being equipped with 'angel rings' each one couldn't solve.

I agree... if they made one then that would be a good way to go although I also agree with the post above that stated Enix would screw it all up.

Would Ramza have been able to have kids, though? They did say that nobody ever saw Ramza or Alma again after that little incident after Alma's funeral... Ah well.

I happen to agree that an FFT2 would be awesome too. I don't know how they'd work the plot, but a game like FFT deserves redemption.

Well, that would probably be a situation where the game would run on all new characters and you think that it has nothing to do with the other for the first half of the game and then your characters find out that Ramza is their father... it would give it a good suprise element... but like I said before, if they did make one Enix would just ruin it... Enix doesn't really put much thought into what they do, they just make a game based like Final Fantasy so that they can cash in on Square's success, simply because they know people will buy the game just because it is a Final Fantasy. That's what I think anyway.

If I could envision a Final Fantasy Tactics 2 where Square-Enix didn't botch the homeostasis that the original had, then I could live happy. Lord knows they'd probably want to change the game's design and battle system up somehow.

For a plot suggestion, I would suggest following Olan in the aftermath of the Altima battle or, as was said prior, following Ramza's children. Finding some way of making Ramza have children, though, when he wasn't intimate with anyone, would be a challenge....or was he intimate with someone....tongue.gif

Anyway, I'd suggest for a sequel that:

-There be some way to attain special classes. Whether it involves mastering certain classes, fighting a number of battles, or defeating a certain class a number of times in a number of battles. For example, getting a Holy Knight class available would require someone to defeat 200 enemy knights in addition to mastering some class. When the quota for the Holy Knight requirement is up, then the 200 knights you fought would be nulled for any other class usage. You can get my drift, though.

-Make a map editor! Nothing would make the people happier than to battle it out on their own homemade turf. Maybe having a way to make that an actual battleground on the game would be a good idea.

-Two-player Option. Definately. Loading up characters from two different saves and battling against your friends........UBER-FUN.

-More weapons that do something other than add +1 attack. Make weapons that don't have good attack but inflict status effects or something. The Blood Sword was desirable for a different reason other than attack; go off that, Square-Enix!

-Sidequests that do stuff. Propositions were cool and the user could get a better feel of what was going on in Ivalice, but it didn't really have that much of an impact. Make Propositions and Rumors open up different sidequests and such to keep the fun feeling alive!

-More skills? A double-edged sword, no doubt, but there's nothing wrong with adding a few more skills.

-Intelligent AI (oxymoron? tongue.gif). FFTactics had pretty smart enemies, but they need to be more difficult.

-Different modes of play. A la Resident Evil, have an Easy, Hard, Difficult, and Expert modes that offer less weapons, gil recieved after battle, and maybe even less classes or something in accordance with the selected hardness.

That's all I can think of.

Tell me what you guys think here... I've always wanted to see the complete story from Delita's side. I think if a Tactics II ever came out, I would want to play as Delita. He disappears so often in Tactics and then reappears suddenly.... he could be doing all kinds of stuff in those periods. I think the story would provide great insight into his character, and it would also settle the age old question of whether he intentionally killed Ovelia at the end of the game.

Story battles with Delita in them could be replayed, or course, but a whole new set could be created. Like the battle we never see where Baron Grimes and his Black Sheep knights were wiped out and Delita was the sole survivor... that would make for an awesome, full-scale battle with tons of ally and enemie units where the only condition of victory would be "Be the last soldier alive".

Would this kind of storyline interest anyone else at all, or just me? blink.gif

I like that idea, Hamedo. It could be like the second half to the Brave Story. As long as it wouldn't be done in the manner of Arc the Lad: Twilight of Spirits, I could see it being a big hit.

I also would like to find out what Delita would be doing in the gaps in the story. First he disappears, then appears as a Holy Knight? How did that come to be? That could be something to be unravelled as well as, like you said, his ascension through the army from the Black Sheep knights to leader of the Nanten.

It could even go past the ending scene and show how his reign was afterwards. Man, you got my mind rollin' now, Hamedo. =p

It's a concept that could be done so well, if developed right. Like the battle at Zirekile falls... You would start alone, with the goal of "Save the Princess", and then once you killed two knights (there are two dead knights on the field when you get to this spot with Ramza) Ramza and Gaff and the gang would join in. It would work so seamlessly right along with tactics. Then, like you said, we could find out the trials he had to endure to become a Holy Knight... or how he survived Fort Zeakden and got in with Goltana... *drools* There are just so many ways it could go. I particularly liked the idea of yours about following him after Tactics ends, to see what happens with his rule.

BTW... in the Invent-a-Class post, I really liked your Gunslinger idea. I posted my own right after.

If I remember correctly, the Orbonne Monastery battle occurs around two years after battle at Fort Zeakden. Delita was always a good fighter, so I'm not surprised he became some sort of knight, but it would be nice to see what tribulations he had to go through in that time period from Fort Zeakden on to kidnapping Ovelia.

And I saw your character, Hamedo, and it was pretty good. Keep it up. wink.gif

Well, if they went the Delita route, then St. Ajora would never be an opponent you would face... nor would any of the Zodiac Braves. I think an exciting final battle for this story line would be an epic, grand-scale battle. One of the few complaints I have with FFT is the limited number of combatants you can have on the field. Why not have Delita's final battle be a HUGE board with mountains and rivers, all types of geography.... with Delita controlling the Black Sheep (who would consist of knights, squires, magic users... you name it) against the final rebellion consisting of Larg and Goltana's broken armies, who are desperatly trying to keep the upstart peasant from becomming king? The terrain and the massive amount of units would require you to employ real strategy... I think a final battle like this would be infinetly more interesting than the standard "one final boss, one final battle" routine.

Why not Delita? Of all the characters in Tactics, no one matches him in terms of being the most complex character.

As for Teta... um... a game based off of her would involve alot of playing with Barbie dolls and listening to boy bands, I would imagine. tongue.gif

No, it cannot be just any ol' time the game wants. I'm quite sure if you look at the Brave Story Character list during and after Chapter 1, you can see the difference.
