lol, was looking at the avatars, and came across the almight caped moogle, as you can see it is now my avatar. Anyways, this is never come across in FFVI is it? because I sure as hell missed it, and would love to find wherever it is in game, if it isn't just an edit by some of the staff at Caves of Narshe.

No caped Moogles in the game. Too bad, really. The whole 'Moogle' thing deserved some background story. I doubt there wasn't a way to insert Mog as a obligatary character instead of an optional one, with some sweet scenes inserted in it. Just think of the character development Mog and Terra could have had together:
Terra: I really don't know what to do anymore...I'm so confused...Sometimes I wonder if I should abandon all hope to keep myself from dissapointments... Mog: Kupo! -------------------- |

err... kit, you sounded serious with the Guardian(Kefka's tower version) part, lol, but the hadouken sounds rediculous, and I'm really gullible, I mean there's no hadouken, I know that, but is there really a caped moogle?

No caped moogles in FFVI. IIRC, that avatar was made for Super Moogle, one of CoN's highest-posting members, a long time ago.

You don't need to do that. Just overthrow his legacy! I'm currently 62 posts away from Detah, my Alexandr-sprite rival. When I catch up with him, I'm going to show him who's the REAL Alexandr around this place
By the way: Treasure Hunter without me anxiously anticipating it. What a world. -------------------- |

There IS a caped moogle sprite, but it isn't the one you see. Have Mog block a magic attack without a sheild equipt and he will hold up a cape to block it with...the very same cape you see in that avatar.
As for overthrowing Super Moogle... good luck, your gonna need it. He has well over 1000 posts. And on the note of avatar rivals I don't think I have one. therandyhoards uses a Setzer avatar but its a different one so I never even thought about it like that. But I am the only member I know of that uses the Angry Setzer avatar. When I started playing, my friend told me that by equipping the Zephyr cape on Mog he would, after a certain amount of battles, start wearing a cape.
I never believed him, but imagine my surprise when I saw the caped moogle avatar here... I almost thought twice about the whole Zephyr cape fiasco. About avatar rivals, I think I can safely say that no one else uses my Starlet avatar. -------------------- Je ne t'aime plus, Mon amour... Je ne t'aime plus, Tous les jours... |

I forget how it happened exactly, I think Super_Moogle (the member) said something about how it'd be nice to have a caped moogle avatar. So I told my fiance about it, who used to be a member here, and he took Edgar's cape, played with it a bit, and put it on the moogle. ^-^

While we're on the subject of avatars, where did that Cid menu picture come from?

Good question Eddie, but I remember seeing it somewhere before, can't quite remember which point in the game it was, but it was very short lived I can tell you that much.
And you know what, I'll switch to the caped moogle once I hit 200 posts, then I'll be well on my way to overtaking that guy! No offense if he's around... -------------------- Adma <3 CoN |

Somewhere on the forum, there is a thread explaining the Cid portrait's existence. It's fake, but really well done. Fooled you, didn't it?

Well the Cid avatar was a creation of a CoN member if I remember correctly. Did it only a short while ago so you might find the original submittion in the front section of that part of the forums if you ever decide to look.
As for rivals, I don't think anyone other than me has ever used my avatar. I guess cause it looks so friggin dorky. The thpt on you, just means I'm unique dammit! -------------------- |

Wow, guess I was wrong, and the fake was so realistic it fooled my mind into believing that i'd seen it before... Maybe I have? I don't know, thought that for some reason that looked really familiar

Wow, wonder how I missed this one.
The Caped Moogle has some history to it, to be sure. It's basically a result of Dee's (Elena99) fiance coming up with a neat avatar by placing Edgar's cape on Mog's body, followed by me nagging R51 until he put it in for regular use during the next forum update. (Thanks again for putting up with that, Josh.) Anyway, feel free to try the Caped Moogle avatar out if you like. I'm not staff, so of course it's open for anyone to use. This forum name is sort of associated with it, I suppose, but only loosely. I don't think you'll run into any problems getting confused with me, if that's what you're worried about. And bumming off my "legacy" definitely isn't a problem either, since it's essentially a testament to how annoyingly persuasive I can be. -------------------- "I always have a quotation for everything - it saves original thinking." ~Dorothy L. <runs into hiding> For now I'll stick with Stray or some other cool thing, although we should be able to make our own avatars, or at least submit some to be approved. Nice to meet you Super Moogle. Adma -------------------- Adma <3 CoN |

It seems Super Moogle has many peruers, I know I'm trying to catch him, even though theres a better chance of Hell freezing over than that happening......
Wait, what's this? Cold, coming from underground!? ^-^ *Hint Hint* As fo rivals... I don't think I have any, I know a few people who use the Shadow avatars, but no facesets of him ^-^, yay for me!! ^-^. And by the way, that's quite a backstory for the Caped Moogle, I mean I didn't think an avatar had such a history, lol. -------------------- Link: "What is it?" You guys all thought that a mere CAPED Moogle was good? Take a look at the psychotic, mind-boggling, brain-twisting Logo I made for my site. Mog with the Atma Weapon, in case you couldn't see.
