Yet another new Gif! This time, I opted to make one from a different squaresoft game: Chrono Trigger.
This is from the cutscene in which Lucca fixes up Robo around a campfire right before finding the red gate. Utilizing the gate, which takes her back in time, Lucca is able to (possibly, depending on the player) save her mother from a malfunctioning machine that her father had created. Glenn Magus Harvey should be a huge fan of this as both Frog and Lucca are in the animation, and we all know his feelings on those two This post has been edited by Stephen the Third on 6th May 2004 04:07 -------------------- Je ne t'aime plus, Mon amour... Stephen, that looks great, how did you make it exactly? screenshots from in game completely, a drawing from scratch? or a mixture of both, do tell us you're deepest secrets.

Are you using Imageready to make these? I don't know, they look good, but I think you could make this in Imageready in about five minutes if you'd ever used the program before and had the screenshots in hand.
You are pretty good at picking out scenes to use, though, I'll give you that. This post has been edited by Rangers51 on 6th May 2004 12:38 -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

Hey thats pretty cool. I don't think I've seen your other gifs, but if they are as good as the one here, I'm in for a treat.

Rangers 51, yes I did make this in image ready, though I cropped the images in photoshop first. I am actually working on making some original sprite-based animations at the moment.
I made my first custom sprite last night. It is a mix between the prince ralse / jidoor citizen sprites, Edgar's sprites, and Kefka's. Here are the initial ones: ![]() ![]() ![]() I know that I posted these in another topic, but I figured since your attention had already been drawn here I could get your opinion on them. Pretty much I am making a bunch of custom sprite characters which I will be putting in animated gifs eventually. -------------------- Je ne t'aime plus, Mon amour... They're pretty good. Couldn't you try to make a blond Terra? I'd do it myself if I, you know, had any interest in doing that.

Those blonde Terra swaps also changed her clothing colour, though. Here are three sprites of Terra with blonde hair AND her original costume.

Pretty neat. I like how you can make your own customized sprites. Thats the biggest thing that I was curiuos about.
Did you use photoshop to make your own sprites, or did you use better software like stuff from Adobe? I'm just curiuos, because it looks like it was very nicely done. This post has been edited by edge murasame on 6th May 2004 17:19 -------------------- I will be the mustard of your doom! |

I never thought I'd say so, but those yellow hair Terras really look good, much better than the green. (note: I'm not saying that I think her hair is blonde, just that in those pics it looks better blonde).
Also, nice work on the crono .gif |

I don't think Stephen is going to be willing to give out his secrets, although I have seen a sprite editor out there on the internet somewhere, that seems like what he is probably using for those specific things.

Nope, Adma. They don't make a sprite editor for Mac as far as I know. I take screenshots using an emulator, then edit out the segments I don't like. I put what I want to edit on a transparent background in photoshop, then manually swap colours out. Quote Didn't Figaro make these? I saw them on his site Anyway, they are good, but I don't like Terra with blond hair |)arkShadow, Figaro did make a set of his own, though he switched the colours of her clothing as well. These were made by me. This post has been edited by Stephen the Third on 20th May 2004 02:44 -------------------- Je ne t'aime plus, Mon amour... Je ne t'aime plus, Tous les jours... |

Actually, I had made Terra with her regular clothes and blonde hair, but I was too lazy to transfer it over to my computer (I made it on my mom's laptop), so I never did.
I'm still thinking on more requests, Steve. -------------------- Wow. 1,000 posts. I miss you all now that I'm in boarding school! ;_; |

Quote But wait...where're Magus and Ayla? Well, GMH, unfortunately for Magus, Frog decided to exact his revenge during this playthrough of the game. Ayla normally paces up and down on the right side of the screen. To fully capture her movement, I would have had to add a lot more frames than I wanted to. Furthermore, I think that the image looks better with Lucca fixing Robo while Crono, Frog, and Marle look on. Having Lucca and the fire being the only two moving parts of the image brings focus onto them. Ayla would have taken too much attention away from what I wanted to be the focus of the image: Lucca repairing Robo. I suppose I could edit sitting sprites of the two onto the image if you want.
