It's quick poll time. This is not when you played your friend's game for 10 minutes, but rather this is when you first started playing your own game in an attempt to see how far you can get (I wonder if Figaro ever finished the game huh.gif). The poll results should be interesting doncha think?

I got my SNES copy on August 21st of 1995 for my 13th birthday, the same age as my favorite character. smile.gif

I picked '94. I assume it's listed because it's when the game first came out. When it first came out is when I played it.

I started playing on October 13, 1994. I know this because I got the game off of my preorder two days after it came out, because I was only 14 and had no way to get into town to pick it up until Thursday after school.

I got the ROM at the beginning (in 2002) of my senior year in high school, and finished it during my first semester in college last year (around November 2003).

Space Year 2000 AD. I first got interested reading the Final Fantasy Forum column in Super Play, but without a UK release, and not being much of an import guy, I never had a chance to play it until I could dig my greasy claws into the Internet and emulation. I've been online since 1999, but it was only after buying my cousin's copy of FF7PC that year (and subsequently playing it half a year later, when I finally had a gamepad -- I can't stand playing it with a keyboard) that my interest in the series reignited.

And then a few months after that, I was working on new message boards for the then FF6-only CoN, so I guess you could say I quite liked the game. FF7 will always be my favourite of the series, but six fought it hard for that spot.

But that's all by the by. Yeah, I reckon I'll be sitting on the later end of this poll.

Yeah, I did. But my first "New Game" was waaaay back... sometime like in '97, so that's my vote.

I only just beat the game for the first time at the beginning of this year.

1994 - Same day as Rangers. I wanted the game very badly, so I went to my local funcoland to trade in 3 other games. Turns out they didn't want to give me cash, only store credit. That made me real sad, so my mother who drove me felt sorrry and decided to go ahead and cough up the dough. Thank you Mom.

i think i was about 12, so i believe that would be in '97.

i was never able to find a copy, so i borrowed a friends copy for about 6 months, the first time i ever played it, i went 12(?) hours without getting up or turning it off. i had just landed at albrook (and experienced the great setzer for the first time ever) before i turned it off and went to be at like 9 AM.

when i was 14, funcoland sold me a copy for 60 bucks (INCREDIBLY high demand for it, i reserved it, and someone offered to pay $150 for it). i paid the money and never regretted it. and i played THAT one for 9 hours straight, and was just making it to zozo.

I think I started in 1997, if I can do math correctly. I'd played FFIV, and it was my favourite game, but I didn't know that there were any more. Then, I was babysitting some boys who were only a few years younger than me, and they got me to play it with them. I was instantly hooked.

I was still in 8th grade when I first played it, so it was in 1994. My friend bought it and I borrowed it from him for about a month. We always did trades when borrowing games, so I traded FFIIus for his FFIIIus.

I remember first playing it in 6th grade (1997) because I used to get picked on alot, and to remedy it, I would go home and pretend to be shadow and beat up my bullies. I think thats why shadow is my favorite character. so yea, 1997.

Only two years ago. I wish I would have discovered the splendor that Final Fantasy VI is a lot earlier. It must've been a blast being the first to discover all that stuff that only hacking provides.

It was December of 1994

I remeber the good old days when i was in the second grade and i used to get all A's and every quarter i would get a new game and y mother just so happened to get FFVI not knowing how much in demand it was in then and ending up paying 70 buckeroonies for the game! well i was in the second grade so based on the cover it just sat there for two months untill i got the chicken pox.
It was two days later the game was beaten! i continued to play for the next weak powering up my characters and fighting the dragons i still have the cartidge and the save file. but that is locked up and now I play my PS1 version now. Oh yeah and my copy still hold its 70 dollar vale today because of its mint condition! HOO HAH!!

--------------------
HAHA all my game saves lost!

oh yeah and i am the proud owner of a never before opened snes copy of ffvi still in plastic and everything!

I also started either in December '94 or '95, either one I begged and begged for it for Christmas, and when I got it, proceeded to tear through the game. It was my first RPG to own, Secret of Mana being the second, and they are both, BRILLIANT games. Love em. thumbup.gif

I first played thru FF VI in '96. I couldn't afford the game & my parents would never buy me games, so I borrowed it from a kid at school & kept it for a month until I finished it.
