I found this on a site, and translated it:

According to Japanese Forenusern it is to be announced in the current Jump expenditure that Square Enix Remakes of finally Fantasy I and II for the Game Boy Advance develops. The whole calls itself allegedly "final Fantasy I+II Advance". The Jump is to write to the fact that the "origin of the final Fantasy series experiences a large Auferstehung with many new elements". According to another user it will give extra Dungeon as well as extra Storyelemente. The Japanese seeming date would lie in July 2004, the price would be 6,090 Yen. So far this is considered however still as unconfirmed. As from another Scan of the expenditure (s. picture), is however in any case somewhat too final Fantasy comes out in the coming Jump, which will already receive from subscribers could.

I soooooo hope this is actually gonna happen. They better make this. I have been waiting years and years for something like this to happen.
I think this is a great idea.

That's nice and all, but what they really need to do is do a remake of FFIII.

This cannot be stressed enough. One of my favorites.

Yeah, they need remake of FFIII... and maybe they'll get to that.
Here's some more info and a pic just released today.

In finally Fantasy it will give an extra Dungeon to I named "Soul OF chaos". Here four souls of the chaos are to sleep. In addition one can fight against Bosse from different later final Fantasy plays, e.g. against the "Ghost Train" (JP: maressha) from FF6. Some new and powerful Items were likewise inserted - in a screen SHOT for example the "Ultima Weapon" is to be seen. Finally Fantasy II gets however the extra Story "Soul OF RH-Birth". Here four characters, which die in the actual play, are again the heroes (spoilers: Minyu, Scott, Josef and Richard). With them one is to experience new Events and fight against strong monsters; new Items is also here present (e.g. hiryû the NO yari - "lance of the Hiryû"). The two Remakes will appear together on a cartridge at the price of 6.090 Yen (approx. 47, - EUR) in July in Japan; over the releases abroad naturally still nothing is well-known. Thus there would be now Remakes of the two titles on the WonderSwan Color, the PlayStation and the GBA; FF1 is available also as Handyspiel in Japan. Still no Remake exists however too finally to Fantasy III, since one did not express oneself over the WSC version already for a long time no more - perhaps does GBA aRemake of the third FF part follow now sometime?

I believe that this is a great idea and I will get it when it comes out for sure, but I'm not sure if it's going to be that big of a deal to many ppl when it makes it to the stores...if I remember right they made a remake of this for ps1 and no one really made much of an effort to get it...although this may be different since you did say that tehre would be extras such as the ghost train from ff6 (I will look foward to this greatly),but I'm sure that we will start seeing sights like IGN and such advertising the game soon,so to anyone interested in it I suggest to just keep checking, also Piano Master if you could find a release date sometime and post it that would be much appreciated...I know the sight is in Japanese and all but even a Japanese release date might give us an idea of when to expect it here.

That looks awsome, I have been praying for a FF VI and FF IV remake onto a portable system so I hope they decide to do those too. This gives me a reason to get the early FF's.

No!No! I'm so ticked off. How come they'll never have Final Fantasy 6 on GBA. I feel that they haven't made any improvement on GBA. I want Final Fantasy 6 to come out. Why can't Square release it? This just makes me so mad. They're only on 1&2.

Hold on. They just started on FF1 and FF2 for GBA. It said that it might lead to FF3/FF6. Just wait. They may eventually make FF3 for the GBA.... I hope they do.

And the release date for FF1+FF2 was supposedly July 2004 in Japan. If that is true, then I believe it will be around winter 2004 for it to come to America.
