I hope that they will do a french version and I hope they won't do this just to say that they can sell FFVIIAC in Québec. They have to make a translation of quality. I don't care to view the movie in English but I prefer to view it in my mother language. They did a so pathetic job with FFVII in french.

I would only expect a remale to the game if Square sold really big on the movie...if it sux I wouldn't expect a remake since the movie will most likely make so many fans only like the original game and act like the movie was never made if it's no good...although I'm sure it will be glorious. I kinda hope it's in the theatres and then again I kinda don't...if it is in the theatres I think it will lose alot of ratings because alot of ppl that aren't FF gaming fans might expact it to be another part to the Spirits Within which might I ad sucked really really bad,and judging by the mention that it's only gonna be about 60 to 80 mins I don't think they will have time to do a recap of the game to let non gamers know what's going on since it is supposed to take place after the game.

i too cant wait to see the movie. I wish it would come out with the FFVII remake, in order to appease the fans of the game.

then again, if it just happened to somehow magically appear in the IMAX, then wat gamers, cause i would personally dive at that sort of chance!!

I don't know if anyone else has said this but... there was this interview awhile back with someone that's working on the film(producer or someone), and he said something like: The trailers and screen shots that have been released are just advertising; they are NOT part of the film.

This may be a good thing... or may be bad. And he may be lying... I dunno. Anyways, I just thought I'd share that with y'all.

I think it means that the scenes in the trailers are not going to be part of the movie. I'm sure the film will still have all the characters that you see in the trailers.

If you think that FF SW was based on FF7 you may have lost it.
Actually it's because you do not have a PS2 and most likely have not seen Xenosaga, which is another series that Suare is working on. It is a prequil to Xenogears for the PS1 ( It is a great game if you haven't played it). The story for FFSW is rediculously close to Xenosaga to not be based on it. Xenosaga has the Phantoms in it. The main character even has been touched by one of the Phantoms and has survived. Check it out. Find screenshots for it.
I think that Square called it FFSW because they knew that more square fans would go to see a Final Fantasy movie than a Xenosaga movie.

I thought Xenosaga was made by the Xenogears team (now called Monolith or something like that), who left Squaresoft due to creative differences or something like that. My impression was that Square had no involvement in Xenosaga, since Namco publishes it, or at least that's what I've thought. Perhaps I've fallen off my rocker again?

this movie is going to be the UBER movie for final fantasy(i hope)... before seeing the trailor for this film, i could not play FF7 because of the graphics... however after i saw the trailor i got my act together so i would have some back story... and i am now finished disc 1... (this is a big accomplishment considering i don't own the game and will probably have about a weeks worth of time to play before the release of this movie.)

i have heard rumors that it is schedualed <-[SP?] for release in the summer 2004 in canda (strictly only rumors to me at this point)
