Not as easy, more reliable, and can be done with any character:
1)X-Summon Hades/KotR 2)Mime |

isn't that kind of a cheap shot?? Maybe it was just because I beat the weapons with out KOTR,but I don't think that I would use that method if it was my first time fighting them...that's no fun.

I personaly dont think there is an easy way to kill Ruby but if i had to guess it would just train lots then just keep your health above a sertine point you pick what a good point is and then beat it in to submission.
But also keep casting cure in who ever is close to dieing and then keep cast Blk Magic on it and just keep doin that over and over till it is dead. Well, yeah, using KotR is kinda cheap, but if you don't want to be AS cheap (It will take a LOT longer, trust me, I've tried) Use Hades and a Quadra Magic Bahamut Zero. Actually, any of the bahamuts will work, so I've discovered, since they completely ignore the enemies defense stat, thus negating Rubies high defense.

To obtain the X-Summon materia, you need to get 64,000 BP at the battle arena in the Gold Saucer. One thing you must know, is that when you do have this set-up, you need to equip all the neccesary materia on ONE character, and go into battle with the other 2 dead. Otherwise, Ruby will remove 2 (or one if one is dead) characters from battle, and it gets to decide which ones, meaning that it COULD remove the character you equipped with all of your materia. One last thing: at the beginning of the battle, when Ruby has it's claws in the air, it is invincible. It is only vulnerable when it's claws hgave been buried in the sand, and show up behind you. He will only bury his claws when it is a 1v1 battle, IIRC. Meaning, when it has either removed two of your fighters, or two of them are dead. One last thing, I tend to beat bosses like this at low levewls (Ruby at 70, Emerald at 72 IIRC) However, this is NOT recommended. I would say be at LEAST level 80. Make sure to check your characters stats, and use the one with the highest magic attack stats fight Ruby. Use the strategies mentioned above, and include the following: Equip enough HP plus materia to make your character have 9999 life, equip all the materia mentioned above. Another good tip is to use X-Item (must have been gotten your second time through Midgar) And use an elixer and a dazer whenever Ruby manages to hurt you (dazer paralyzes enemies, same as Hades) Then, fill up ALL of your remaining materia slots with Magic Plus materia to pump up your characters magic stat even more. Make sure to use both a weapon and armor who have the moist possible slots for materia. However, unless you have 8 of the aforementioned materia mastered, I would recommend that you not go with a characters ultimate weapon, as the AP boost is nice. However, if you have 8 mastered, put them in the ultimate weapon of your character of choice, and put the non-mastered materia iin the characters armor. Good luck, and happy hunting!

If you KOTR ruby it will remove your characters from the battle so do what I did...give two people the last-attack pheonix combo so whenever they die everyone will be Life 2ed back to life and ruby will take damage!
