PLEASE HELP ME!
I have gotten fairly far in FFVI, I`m trying to get to Mt. Zozo from Zozo to get Cyan. I hear everyone screaming "BUY THE RUST-RID FROM THE GUY OUTSIDE THE INN AND USE IT ON THE DOOR THAT`S RUSTED SHUT!!!" Believe me, I have read many FAQS, and gotten passed this part of the game before, B U T, and this is a big but, this time, the idiot won`t sell me the rust-rid! He just tells me not to jump across window`s! There must be a bug/glitch or something. I`ve tried looking for game genie codes and FFVI editors for rare items like the rust-rid, but to no avail. Please can someone help me, ANY one help me, I`m at the end of my tether!!! |

That is a most unusual situation indeed...
At this point, you have to have gotten the Falcon, and you have to have followed the bird... You are talking to the merchant-type(?) guy in the upper section of the town, right? Hmm... My best guess would be to play a bit more of the game first, then ask the guy later. Maybe the glitch will unglitch itself... I don't know if that makes any sense, but neither does the situation. Sorry I couldn't be any more help than that, but I've never heard of any problems like that. -------------------- --sbq92 <>< |

Hmm...Have you actually talked to the person who tells you that the merchant can be of some help? I'm not sure, but it might be possible that the merchant will sell you the rust-rid only after you talk to that guy. Some games are like that

Yeah, to follow up on Harry's post, I seem to remember that you have to talk to someone in Maranda first, who says something about "Find the only guy who doesn't lie." But the way you posted, it sounds like you've thought of many situations already. This is very strange.

Mmmm, I did go to Maranda, and I talked to many people, I thought I had to speak to the girl that Cyan was writing letters to, but I`ll try it again. Thanks! I`ll let you know if it works.
