I found something really weird from a sprite viewer on FF6. I’ve never heard anyone mention it before, but probably some of you already know about it already.
The sprite viewer is called vSNES. I was trying to get the sprites for Final Fantasy 6 in the magitech factory. I was looking for Esper sprites (the ones you see in the glass tubes). I wanted to see if they had additional sprites that you never see. I was looking through something that looked basically like static and it really stood out. I fiddled with the palettes and picture came up. I don’t know who the picture is of but it looks like a character picture to me. Do any of you know where else I might find new pictures like this? ![]() edit: wrong url This post has been edited by WebGraphics_ on 1st April 2004 23:35 -------------------- ''The modern dictators are reviving a very ancient and encrusted way of life.'' Why, that's Cid from the Magitek Factory!!! Maybe Square originally meant him to be a playable character? That looks just like a potential menu pic (right size, right amount of detail, based on Amano's art).

Boy, that's bizarre, I've never seen anything like that before...well except the Amano art that that pic is clearly based off of. All these hidden things, the CzarDragon, this picture, the dummied enemies stored in the rom, they remind me of the secret cave in Castlevania SotN that appeared to be a glitch, but when the game was released on Saturn it turned out that the glitch was a path to an entirely new area. Seems like Square had something cooked up but didn't get around to implementing it, for whatever reason.

Hey you're right. Except cid doesn't have a mustache, that threw me off. That orange thing must be his hood. Maybe square intended him to join you in the magitech factory?
Also, it is strnage that square missed a Cid un FF6, but kept the tradition in the adjoining FFs. It would make sense that Cid was originally intended as a playable character. -------------------- ''The modern dictators are reviving a very ancient and encrusted way of life.'' Actually, as I remember it, the Amano art of Cid actually does put a mustache on him.
And what happened to the picture now? Edit: the picture has been fixed.
