About year Ago Buffalo New York Was Graced With A gamers Oasis Known as Cyber Jocks. Cyber Jocks Is A LAN Gaming Place. You go there and play on LAN with other People in the facility. Buissness Has Expanded HUGE amounts. And CS is Always Being Played. So Im asking, Does Your Area Have Such A Place ? Do You think Its A good Idea? And If No, Do you want One? www.cyberjocks.com

Yeah I'd like one around here. Near lagless network games must be a blast. I wish the local arcade place that's on it's last legs would convert into a LAN facility. In fact I like to think of LAN facilities as being modern arcades, and I hope they start sprouting up everywhere. Until T3 connections are $20 per month (or whatever type of super-broadband) this will have to do right? I would be a newb in any game except Descent 1 & 2 and Warcraft 2 & 3. Oh well.

Well, CS isnt the only game they have. They have Warcraft 3 which recently was given Battle Net Access. The cost is decent. Its like 5.40 for what they call a credit. Credits last longer when playing certain games and on weekdays. Every month they have an All Night LAN pary,Thats fun. 35 Dollors or so And you play for like 12 hours. Its Great. People Arent alowed to fight there otherwise they get Banned. No body wants to get banned.

I used to go to such things, but everyone did always play Counter-Strike regardless of anything else available. I'm terrible at CS, and I hate it. So I don't bother any more, since everyone is apparently just a CS zombie, incapable of playing anything else if only to relieve the boredom of their humdrum lives.

Ah it tastes like bitter. tongue.gif

Actually I used to have LAN games during lunch at school playing BF42 and that was a blast. Then they put in UT3k on ALL the comps for the new videogame developement class and just recently someone got the 2k4 demo and now we've been doing that during lunch. As for official LAN arcades, don't know of any and I wouldn't be able to get to one even if I did.

Well considering I live in the backwards town of Texarkana Tx. I would never expect any place to be cool enough to get one around here but yeah it sounds like a great idea...only alot of ppl here are to stupid to know what LAN is anyway.

We used to have a place like that in Dallas, however they chose a bad location for it. They went with an area right off the tollway, in the "nice" section of town. The cost to operate the place was way too high, due to the insanely expensive land. However, it was a lot of fun. They had a coffee/bakery shop attached to it, and top of the line computers usually updated once every two months. I miss that place, and I hope that with the success of other LAN gaming centers it will come back to Dallas.

Maybe I should give Mark Cuban a call.
