This topic is simalar to the class system in the FFVI forum. My ideas for FFIX charcters are:
Zidane: Thief Vivi: Black Mage Garnet: Summoner /White Mage Stiener: Knight Freya: Dragoon Quina: blue Mage Eiko: Summoner /White Mage Amarant: Good Question |

I'd agree with you on all of them. Amarant is a Ninja IMO because he can throw items iirc.

I agree except:
Freya: Dragon Knight. Let's be proper here. Dagger: Summoner. Leans more towards it, and that's the ability that is affected by Trance. White Magic is a secondary ability. Eiko: White Mage. Leans more towards it, and that's the ability that is affected by Trance. Summon Magic is a secondary ability. Amarant. He seems to be a mixture of Monk and Ninja. His weapon belongs to Monks (ignoring FFIV), and His monk ability is the one affected by Trance. Monk and Ninja, that is a good job combo, I think Beatrix is a Palidan as well.

I agree on that...I'm glad they didn't actually put the job class with JP in FFIX though...I hated doing that on FFT,it took forever!
