I think FFX would be a good movie. this topic is about who would play who.
I don't have any ideas at the moment. My question is who would make the perfect Rikku. Tidus would be a hard character to cast. This post has been edited by GamblingCat on 24th March 2004 23:21 |

Does anyone think Reese Witherspoon could do Rikku. I am not sure. She is a pretty hard character to cast.

Leo Dicaprio would be Tidus no doubt. He's got the rep of a pretty boy, but I really liked him in Catch Me If You Can.

The Rock as Kimahri. In a furry suit of course.
Charlize Theron as Lulu perhaps? I wouldn't have thought she'd be capable of that level of maturity, but I recently saw Monster and now believe that she's able to give a different side of herself (different than every other movie she's done) so maybe there's hope. If not her, Linda Fiorentino maybe. I bet Ricci could play Rikku, she's definitely done that kind of hyper, borderline manic character before. So could Alyson Hannigan probably. Either one of them would have to go with the blonde dye I guess. Jason Biggs as Tidus maybe? I'm kind of reaching on that one. Biggs can definitely do the whiney thing. I love RAC's choice for Chapelle as Wakka. ![]() Natalie Portman as Yuna. I think her acting's been very anemic lately (especially in the Star Wars movies), but that actually fits Yuna pretty well in my opinion. Definitely like Sasuke's casting of Jackman as Auron. My alternate chioce would be Laurence Fishburne. Samuel L. Jackson as Cid (!). PB78 |

Any chance of an FF X-2 movie discussion here too? I think you could get a good Paine from Pink...
Anyway, on topic, for an FF X movie, i's say Leonardo Di Craprio for Tedious. Both are annyoing... Auron would have to be Hugh Jackman, no questions asked. As for the rest... hmm, thats a toughie. Russel Crowe as Jecht would be nice... Cid: Jack Nicholson, anyone? -------------------- "Only the dead have seen the end of their quotes being misattributed to Plato." -George Santayana "The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here..." -Abraham Lincoln, prior to the discovery of Irony. |

Russel Crowe would make a great Jecht, but please get Leo DiCaprio out of the cast, and as for Rikku....well, what about the voice actor?
Then again, FFX virtually is already a movie, so I see no point, so I hope they wouldn't make one. -------------------- Get me off this Disciplinary Committee so I can play any FF except for FF8!!! |

Who would play Paine is a good question and I see that a lot of people want Christina Applegate as Rikku. Who would play Seymour and Jecht is another question as well.

Honestly I can't think of anyone to cast as good FF characters...although I don't think it would matter cus they will probably just make it computer animated like they made The Spirits Within and like they are Currently making Advent Children.

Seymour - Joaquin Phoenix with a lot of makeup. He really nails the calm tone with a lot of hate underneath in Gladiator, and I think that fits Seymour perfectly.
Jecht - Russel Crowe is perfect. Tidus - This is tough, because they need to be whiny and yet athletic. I think the best blend of that is either Hayden Christiansen (Anakin in SW:Ep. 2) or Leo DiCaprio. I would go with Hayden because I HATE Leo. Yuna - Natalie Portman all the way. Rikku - Alison Lohman (the daughter from Matchstick Men) has the perkiness/curiosity down, and can even pull off the same haircut. A perfect fit for the role. Auron - Daniel Day-Lewis (Gangs of New York). He really nails the "you punk kids have no idea what you're up against" attitude while still being able to kick ass and look good doing it. Khimari - Really anyone could do this with enough makeup and a deep voice, but I like the idea of the Rock. We'll go with that. Lulu - This is the one I can't find a match for. I'll come back to her in an edit. Wakka - I'm sorry, but the leading vote getter for this position is Dave Chapelle? Am I thinking about the same Wakka? How about Scott Cann (Ocean's 11), who actually looks like Wakka with slightly smaller hair? It's not that hard to pull of a Carribean accent, I'm sure he could handle that. Am I forgetting anyone? God, it's late. |

I wouldnt mind seeing an FFX movie, and a couple of Cameo's (from other games) would make it even better. I'm not exactly sure who i think would play who, cause im not a big celebrity knowing person, but if i think of anyone i'll edit this post.
