The damage counter can reach 65535 and you can even overflow it. I think that I read this on MasterZed's website (i'm not sure).

Yeah I'm sure it can but do characters actually inflict that kind of damage in one hit (getting reduced to 9999 of course)? I doubt the damage would go much higher than 30,000 per hit if there was no limit. In Expert Version 2 the damage scale is reduced by about half and at level 85 I'm dealing 9999 damage with Catscratch and Bum Rush but barely (one time it was 9998 smile.gif). That means if this were the regular game we'd be talking somewhere around 20,000 at level 85. At level 99 that figure probably does get up to around 30,000.
