I swear the Brachosaur is the toughest monster in the game. Even tougher than the legendary Czar dragon. O.K., the Brachosaur could kill Kefka. Here are things that amaze you
HP:46,000 MP:60,000 Speed:95 Ultra attacks: He has some attacks that do 9,999 damage to all characters. Does anyone else have trouble fighting this monster? He seems impossible to me. Oh, by the way, he is in the WOR dinosaur forest. the forest that looks like Pacman, and is east of Gau's father's house. |

I think its his swing attack that does 9 999 damage. Ive never had to much problems with him. Ive fought him plenty of times with out killing him in a cheap way.
If your having alot of trouble with him, use a genji & offring with two strong weapons. Or yon cheap vanish+doom trick. -------------------- Yeah, I barely post. |

A lot of monsters are tougher than the CzarDragon, considering it's attacks were dummied out or never set as a result of it being cut from the normal game.
In my hack, I upped it's stats and things like that. It's still easy. |

You have to give Czar Dragon a custom battle script in order for him to be hard. If Czar Dragon would have been in the original game I'm sure we would have been tougher than Brachosaur. But yeah it's pretty sad when a random monster is tougher than the final boss of the game. Ultima is a pain when used by monsters, but that's what Life 3 is for.

Ultima won't do 9999 unless your Mag Def is horrible, and I've only seen him use it once. Make sure you have high Mag Block, because Disaster can put you out of commission in a hurry if it hits everyone. Most of his deadliness comes from his speed - if you don't kill him pretty quickly he will just swing or disaster or meteor you to death. Offerring - Atma/Illumina or X-Ultima is the best way to go.

Like any other reptile, Brachosaur is weak against ice. There's your offensive strategy. Some relics can defend the major statuses of Disaster, and Life 3 is always a good idea. There's your defensive strategy. Now go kill it lots.

Well it depends on your guys lvls. One time when I was playing an emulate and I had a team with Locke, Terra, Celes, and Umaro. As you can see two of them arent even good attackers anyways. I put it on max fram rate skip and kept walking around in there and pressing a. Viola I got up lvls very quickly. And what lvl was I to do this without healing after every battle. A measly 68 average. And really if your guys are at least 40 and you play seriously you should be able to beat him.
Oh and if you want a challenge you can do one of the two. Play the game without certain good items like Excalibur or any item that gives you Ultima. Stuff like that. Or you can do a low lvl game. Have I personally done one of the two. Hell No! IT seems completely pointless to me. It's like you cant a game more then someone else. SO if you beat it... you beat it. And if you beat with low lvls. YOu beat it... and it means you are a complete loser with no life. Like Fred Durst. He beat the game with low lvls. SO unless you want to be like Fred Durst and eat choclate wienrs with little gremline dudes in your spare time *video games count as life, Music a nuicance to get money to buy better computers for better low lvl FF6 games... oooooooh that 500 dollar video card will really help your 16 bit graphics* and make really good music that is holy and causes ecstacy in people, dont do low lvl FF6. Remember JUST SAY NO TO LOW LVL FF6 and SAY NO TO PEER *maybe loser would be better used* PRESSURE. If anybody dissagrees with me your already wrong becuase I Wheatsac am the Messiah. I spread the Gospel with the people. And like thats important ![]() ![]() Moderator Edit I know you think you're God's gift to comedy, but could you possibly not insult the members here who do enjoy low level games when going off on your unpunctuated and barely readable rants? I'm pretty sure I've gotten Economizers from Vanish/Doom; it's pretty rare that I don't use Vanish/Doom on Brachosaurs. Therefore, since I have Economizers (and a Gem Box, still), I must have gotten them using Vanish/Doom.

Quote (Gerad @ 19th March 2004 21:20) Ultima won't do 9999 unless your Mag Def is horrible, and I've only seen him use it once. Make sure you have high Mag Block, because Disaster can put you out of commission in a hurry if it hits everyone. 1. Ultima ignores defense; the only way to lower its damage is to have two or more members take the hit as it doesn't ignore split damage (if multiple targets, divide damage by 2. Only a couple spells divide by the number of targets, Flare Star, for example). 2. Decent M.Block should be enough, as Disaster's Hit Rate is a crappy 62. Most spells are at least 100+, and even then, a Ribbon can cover you on all but Condemned anyway. Edit One last thing; Disaster is also vulnerable to Runic (as is Ultima), so a fast Celes or Gogo could protect you from both Disaster and Ultima. The only real worries with the right setup would have to be Meteor and Sneeze, unless your right setup doesn't have enough on the physical side to cover for Swing, and that's if Brachosaur survives long enough to get to those attacks. To be honest the Brachosaur IS the toughest regular enemy you can face in the game. If you face it quite early on in the WOR, it will tear your characters to shreds. It's one of those battles that you slightly dread because you know it can unleash Ultima at any time.
The second most difficult battle is against the Hoover, this is purely because it retorts with Sandstorm almost everytime and sometimes it does a double Sandstorm! I can't think of two more annoying battles in the game! ![]() -------------------- Chrono Triggers rock super-group: Ozzie - lead singer from Black Sabbath Flea - Bassist from Red Hot Chilli Peppers Slash - Guitarist from Guns 'n' Roses He drinks and smokes his cares away His heart is in the lonely way Living in the ruins Of a castle built on sand... The brachiasaur while he can be hard is really very beatable, I never have had a problem with the monsters in the forest. But yeah its sad when i have more trouble with a random encounter than last tier kefka. As to wheatsacs post....WTF? Somebody get that guy a muzzle.

Quote The second most difficult battle is against the Hoover, this is purely because it retorts with Sandstorm almost everytime and sometimes it does a double Sandstorm! This battle can be quite straight forward with the right items; that is, items that negate/half/absorb wind damage. So, if you are having trouble, the ideal equipment setup is: one character with the paladin shield and three with thunder shields. That way sandstorm does no damage whatsoever, and all you have to worry about is crush, which only hits one character at a time. Now, if you don't have enough thunder shields, or that paladin shield, some other options are: Force shield or armor (50% damage) or Minerva (No effect, for ladies only, though). I'm sure there's more, but I can't think of them off the top of my head. Anyhow, I know this was off topic, but I hope maybe I helped. |

With the Gem Box/Economizer combo, and Ultima on someone with relatively high Mag. attack, Brachosaur will sizzle reeeeeal nice. But yes, he's pretty tough, because of disaster and Sneeze. Ultima is kind of annoying, too.

I've appreciated the sneeze many times. It's nice when you lose a battle and don't get a game over because one of your party members was miles away covered in snot.

That Drain move they use is annoying because it kills your characters too quickly. Annoying.

Many believe it was meant to be part of the Crusader side-quest. The monster was found a few years ago after it became easy to search through the ROMs data. I then made a hack with the enemy in the game with some beefed up stats and things. I'm pretty sure it's the first hack to have CzarDragon as a fightable enemy, too. Now there's a whole bunch, though. Lots of people who hack the FF3 ROM are into making their own monsters for people to fight, and usually, CzarDragon is the model. =P |
