You can only change the names of people at where you meet them, or if you bet in the colliseum(look in ff6colliseum section). so there is no other way you can change the name. too bad theres no narrator or whatever that lil dude in ff4.

Try FF3H, which lets you edit some stuff in the SRM files produced by ZSNES and Snes9x. Make sure to keep a backup of your saves, though, as they can sometimes become corrupt.

If you wanted to chenger the names why not do it when you met them? I personaly think it is a good thing that they dont allow random name changes...it just makes them seem more like people then maniputable objects.

I agree...and having to get a Rename Card seems like you have to get a legitimate form of legal name change for that character, instead of just visiting a Namingway and asking for a new name.
Asmodeas, I know you said the Colosseum way takes too long, but really, it isn't so bad. If you're to the point of the Colosseum, chances are you have quite a few Elixers, and the Sniper Sight relic. If you've got those two things, and any one of your characters is at above 3000 HP, bet an Elixer, equip the Sniper Sight, and you'll fight Cactrot in the Colosseum. Just three regular attacks with the Sniper Sight will kill the Cactrot and win the Rename Card, and if your character does a special attack like magic or a Blitz, just one attack is necessary. The 3000+ health in important because Cactrot does Blow Fish, which always does 1000 HP damage, on each of it's turns. Survive three rounds, though, and your golden. I know it seems like a pain to win these this way, but I play on the SNES still and I do it all the time. Since you mentioned editing, I'm assuming you're using an editor, which makes things even easier, since you can probably quick save and reload if you lose the battles. Take my advice...the Colosseum may be a little slower than a debug kind of name editing, but at least then you'll feel you've earned it. ![]() -------------------- You know me, you just wish you didn't...
