Just wondering what some of your favorite movies are. If you can give a reason why you like them then go ahead. If you can' think of a reason why you liked them, then just make your list. So to get this thread going I'm going to list some of my favorite movies. I have no particular order for them. So here they are.

1. Scarface
2. Godzilla (Original 1954 Japanese version. The English version was good, but won't be as good as the original Japanese version. Also carries a very powerful message in the film.)
3. Fight Club
4. Inherit the Wind
5. Silence of the Lambs
6. Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964, a perfect movie the represents good vs. evil. Very good movie even if your not a fan of the Godzilla series.)
7. Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1993, last good Godzilla film I've seen and enjoyed. Good characters, music score, and plot.)
8. The 90s Gamera movies (All of them had very good characters and stories along with some very awsome CGI.)
9. Black Hawk Down
10. Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl

I have more, but that is good enough of a list. So I can't wait to see what you guys put down or list.

Zeph reminded me of some other favorites, such as BttF 1,2,3; the Star Trek movies (why wasn't Start Trek IV up there? That's the best one, IMO.); Star Wars 4, 5, 6.

Some other favorites that I remember now are the complete LotR trilogy (evn though seeing the third one has yet escaped my grasp, I know it is awesome).

Oh man, tell me you're kidding. The original Matrix was a phenomenal movie, and probably should have put that on my top ten (along with office space, which does in fact rule). But did you actually like the other two? If so, you'll be the first person I know who did.

And I'll be the second, io. I liked them all. I didn't include them 'cause I can't watch them over and over like I do those others.

These're only personal favorites, not lists of best movies. tongue.gif It's just not one of my personal faves.

I's also reminded of X2. Why didn't I include X2 the first time, through, Zeph? pinch.gif And Robocop, too.

That's all from me for this thread. :x

Well, i've had people say they weren't as good as the original, but not liking them at all? Are u kidding? Most people I've talked to at my school at least LIKED them (if not thought they were awesome). Sounds like the people you talk to have a case of the Bandwagon Bashing syndrome. huh.gif

  • The Rock - Favorite movie of all time.
  • The Usual Suspects - nice thriller, told in a creative backwards-ish fashion.
  • Dr. Strangelove - Black farse on Soviet and US nuclear threats
  • The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly - Probably the best western of all time.
  • Deliverance - Some say this is a sickening movie, but I love the acting.
  • The Deer Hunter - Christopher Walken's best role (...almost)
  • Formula 51 - About a chemical formula, not stockcar racing. =p
  • American Beauty - Just a comedy that's funny in a...different way.
  • Office Space - Spawning the line: "Did you get the memo?" biggrin.gif
  • Full Metal Jacket - One of Kubrick's best movies
  • Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels - Brillliant!
  • Fantasia - Probably the only cartoon I can stand.
  • Singles - A great movie detailing the early '90s grunge movement in Seattle
  • The Big Lebowski - "The Dude Abides" for sure.
  • Easy Rider - A great show with a great/sad ending.
  • Pulp Fiction - Tarantino at his best.
  • Reservoir Dogs - Favorite Tarantino film, probably. Steve Buscemi = rocks.
  • To Kill a Mockingbird - Great book, great movie.
  • Citizen Kane - Best documentary-type show ever. Always gets elected the best American movie of all time for good reason.
  • The Fifth Element - I don't really know why I like it, but I do.
  • Igby Goes Down - The title made me laugh, point, etc., but it was a good movie with the more talented Culkin kid. wink.gif
  • Dirty Harry - I feel lucky, punk.
  • Magnum Force - I always wanted to kill that guy from Starsky & Hutch. =p
  • Mystic River - Eastwood-directed film. Just...great.
  • High Noon - Famous western, great acting in it.
  • The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance - Again, another great western movie.
  • Fistful of Dollars - Ditto.
  • For A Few Dollars More - Ditto.
  • Patton - I love it!
[EDIT] - Oops, I saw a guest viewing the thread and didn't realize how old it was. My bad!

"The answer is, of course, that it would be best to be both loved and feared. But since the two rarely come together, anyone compelled to choose will find greater security in being feared than in being loved."
