Well i was just curious. Give me a top 10 list on which final fantasy/CT character you guys think should be destroyed. NPC's are acceptable.
Mine is as follows.
1. Edward ff4- Cmon im just sick of the whiney bard
2. Cyan FF6- he was useless basicly. All he did was blather about honor ect.
3. Zell- FF8 also a whiney loser
4. Bannon- ff6 who didnt hate this guy. Health aside.
5. Selphie-FF8 So so useless
6. Mysidian elder- ff4 Gimme a break all he does is pray for this or that. Get a real job
7.Hippaul- FF9 i hated the thing. it was so... Stupid. I loved kicking his fat ass in the races.
8.Queen Brahma- FF9 I think i spelled it right. any way she sucked.i was happy to see her go
9.Doan- Ct i hated him too. All he did was sit around and lead a pack of idiots.
10. Strago- FF6 oh boo hoo look the world ended so im gonna follow kefkas cult, Get over it pick up your life and find your friends.

Are you talking about useless in battle or just characters whose personalities you didnt like?

If its the second one I can answer that in one sentence: Every single character from every single FF game since playstation came out........... with the exception of Vincent.

Reason: Acts like a goth. Possibly writes lyrics for Linkin Park.

7. Edward
Reason: Hes so like our own Prince Edward... an annoying little

8. Mysidia. All of it.
Reason: I just dont like the idea of so many human psykers that LOSE so easily...

9. Seymour
Reason: He made seifer look hard...

10. Hippaul.
Reason: Mutant freak.

Edward needs to burn, baybee, burn.
Palom and Parom were pretty annoying, but otherwise they were kinda helpful.
Yuffie. Theif. 'Nuff said.
Queen Brahne has to go as well.
Palmer from FFVII. He was annoying, yet very easy to whoop up on.
A lot of the kings from FFIV and FFV. Most usually got either possesed or they were just plain fools, or they were evil to begin with.

And that's all I can think of right now.

I don't really see much of a reason to get rid of any of the characters in FFIV-FFVI and CT and SMRPG. Almost all of them serve a purpose and thus contribute to the plot. Now for some disagreements:

Edward (FFIV): a wuss, but nevertheless one more character to absorb attacks and use healing items, if you don't count his (deus ex machina) use of the TwinHarp.

Cyan (FFVI): one of my favorite characters--HOW DARE YOU INSULT HIM SO?! Yes, the Swdtechs take forever, but he one of the most interesting characters in FFVI, as a man of honor with a troubled past. And his Swdtechs (if you have good strategy) are pretty powerful too.

Banon (FFVI): he wasn't the best character, and I wished he was at a higher level, but he's the friggin' leader of the Returners--what would Locke and Edgar have done without him? Plus, his Health skill is one of the most useful skills out there.

Mysidian Elder (FFIV): not a particularly interesting character, but serves a purpose, nonetheless.

Doan (CT): he actually represented something--he was the leader of that group of forsaken humans who were lucky (unlucky?) enough to survive Lavos's attack. He served a quite important role.

Strago (FFVI): don't mess with Strago, unless you don't mind your arse being GrandTrained and handed to you. Strago is one of the coolest characters ever, and one of my favorite.

FuSoYa (FFIV): another old man with powerful magic. Hey, if he's good enough to be my avatar of choice, don't mess with him. And he's cool too.

Ultros (FFVI): I actually liked Ultros (in a pitying manner), because he was too stupid not to be funny when he did bad things.

Now on the other hand, some less-well-designed characters:

Palom&Porom, Edge (FFIV): rather random choices of characters. You might be able to alter their personalities or even identities without significantly changing the plot. Well, the twins gave some nice comic relief (even though it never compared to YOU SPOONY BARD!!!) and stopped the wall, but Edge didn't really do much other than act arrogant and foolhardy.

Impressario in the train (not the opera) (FFVI): one of the few absolutely useless characters.

Siegfried and Ziegfried (FFVI): two almost useless characters. One's only purpose is to go around with some people in a cave once. The other's purposes are to be fought in the Dragon's Neck Colosseum and to complete the screenshot gone awry about the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (see it in the When screenshots go wrong... topic in Your Creations).

the dancers at Castle Tycoon, 3rd world (FFV): their only purpose is a very annoying purpoes: to block you from talking to Faris or Lenna/Reina. A very stupidly amusing idea, when I'm happy; a @#$%ing annoying idea when I'm grumpy.

ArcheoAvis's second form (FFV): I thought I killed it already, didn't I?

Fusoya (FFIV)
Just plain ugly

Cait Sith (FFVII)
Let's just say the game would have benefited highly from replacing this thing with a real character

Cid (FFVII)
What's his problem anyway?

All FFX and FFX-2 characters
They're all ugly, and many of their personalities are lacking (from what I've seen)

When I say ugly, I mean the way these characters choose to dress and do their hair (or rather, the way Square made them look).

Squall - Writing lyrics for Linkin Park. I agree, except for one point: I can (and do) shut off Linkin Park every time I hear it. Squall, however, tried to get in my way of beating an FF game. Not only does he need to be eradicated, but his grave needs to be wet by a pack of senile pigs.

I'd say more, but it's a family forum.

Next off, Relm. I mean ... why a 10 year old? They had one before, and before she got to be too major of a character, they made her GROW UP! This should have happened to Relm. Desperately.

The entire cast of FFX-2 for the simple reason that Square made a sequel. They, and it, should have a special room in the Underworld for that...

While we're at it, let's chuck every main character from all the FF-PS games. Squall, Zidane, Tidus, Cloud. Buncha whining pansies, and not a one of them had the sense to get cool like Cecil.

I think all the characters were pretty cool in their own way. I haven't played CT.

But all you people dissin' Cait Sith, lemme defend him a little bit:
1) Someone said they don't like stuffed toys. You do realise, the stuffed toy ISN'T Cait Sith? Cait Sith is the cat. He's just like friggin' Mog - a cute little creature with am attitude.
2) His skills are cool. He's just like Setzer from FFVI
3) There are very few comical parts to FF7. The bit with Don Corneo is probably one of them, and Cait Sith adds a little comical relief.
4) Someone said they would have liked him to be replaced with a "real character". He is real - Cait Sith is just a different race. Mog is real, Freya is real, Quina is real, Kimahri is real.

here's my list.

1.Gernet (FF9) useless summons and worthless white magic. Elko easly toped her.
2. Cid (FF7) foul mouthed and smokes (I hate that stuff)
3. Cait Sith (FF7) stuffed toy, and a stupied spy for the enemy.
4: Setzer: one of his slot attacks killed off my party instead of the enemy!
5: Edward: heh, music can kill the big beast, yea right!
6: Lednar: cheater, It's heard to damage him with your magic.
7: Gafgarion: Trader
8: Algus: same reason for Gafgarion

1) No, Cait Sith is just a robot being controlled by Shinraman 8.

3) okay, I will admit that the most retarded part of the entire game is when cait sith is leading you back through midgar and he stops at a sewer before you drop down to go fight Proud Clod, and he's just standing there wobbling around and dancing like an idiot. Like it was having a seizure or something. It had me laughing for a good while. At him. The whole experience really made me wish I could have Vincent light him up with a shotgun or something.

4) no. they mean a real character, as in one that isn't a waste of space.

Okay here are the FF Characters that should be killed: (In no paticular order)

1.Calli (FFX-2) shut up you stupid lazy a-- brat catch yer own chocobo!
2.Brother (FFX and FFX-2 (Preferably FFX-2)) he is such a retard!
3. Cinna (FFIX) what a wimp!
4.Aeris (FFVII) she's ugly, stupid, and has no life at all!
5.Cid (FFVI) Worst. Cid. ever.
6. Kara (FFV) Brat.
7. Gilbert/Edward (FFIV) Bards suck
8. Tella (FFIV) get a hiarcut or everyone will think you are crazy oh wait you already are crazy.
9.Celes (FFVI) No offense, but Terra is much better.

I'd definately like to see Sephiroth eradicated. I don't understand how a zombie (who granted looks pretty cool) with a mile-long sword has such a die-hard fanbase. The real threat in FF VII was Jenova (who was a puss, but still). After he was tossed into the Lifestream, Seph was basically Jenoviroth, and forfietted whatever personality we're supposed to assume he had (gee, we sure got a LOT of insight during Cloud's flashback, eh?). I mean, going from stoic to zombie probably doesn't require that much of a transition, but I fail to see how that's interesting in the least. Anyway...

Hated FF VII Cid. I swear a lot, but half the time his cursing didn't even flow with what he was saying. That and he treats Shera(?) like crap.

Hated Aeris, but fortunately, she was dealt with. Unfortunately, it was by Jenoviroth.

Rafa and Malak were pretty pointless, and do not exist in my Tactics game, outside of that historian guy's name list.

While there are several other characters who struck my as annoying or pointless, they didn't make a strong enough impression on me to wish they never were. They're simply "necessary evils" who elicit either no reaction from me either way, or slight perturbance.

Eh, I don't feel as if I have the energy to write out 10 characters that I despise, but I will give a few that I think are either WAY overrated or just plain crappy:

1) Sephiroth - Ugh... Sure, he was cool in some respects, but did he really DESERVE to be the main antagonist for most of FFVII? I don't know, just because he had cool gothic-esque clothing and long grey hair with a gigantic sword doesn't mean he should be up on the same level as Golbez and Zeromus or Kefka....

2) Yuffie - Don't even want to get into it... I just disliked her.

3) Zidane - Ick....

4) Aerish - By the time she was *ahem*

5) FFIV Cid - Ugh... I'm sorry, but the whole drunken, ugly engineer thing just didn't appeal to me at all. Cid in FFVI was way better.

Shinra (FFX-2) Burn little brat!
All of the people of Shinra Corp. (FFVII): The Turks are the execption but everyone else is CRAZY!!

well fisrt off that is also not true if you had paid attention you would know that in the first place the reason why there was a Cait Sith 2 was that he was a robot...a guy that got screwed by the Shinra (shinraman or something like that) took his mind from his body or rendered his body useless or something like that and his mind was controlling Cait Sith THE ROBOT back from Shinra inc. Than is why he was so happy like always is when he was in the process of destroying himself so that you could obtain the black materia only to have Sephiroth screw you out of it haha.
What...you just though he reincarnated in 30 seconds or somethign??!!
So no...he is NOT a different race unless you consider a metal scrap heap a race .Come on...get your stuff together!

But yes Cait did suck horribly and it was lame that you had to take along a fortune teller machine that was at the Golden Saucer on your quest...Also,Zell sucked and Irvine was a wussy...remember you had to talk him into taking a pop shot at the sorceress after talking all kinds of smack ,so basically he sux too although I'd have to say I didn't really care for FF8 or any of the characters or the weaponsand I REALLY hated the magic system especially after having played FF7 for two years and using the all mighty system of Materia until the crap game of FF8 came out in '99.
