A prince is as old as the princess will be when the princess is twice as old as the prince was when the princess' age was half the sum of their present age. How old is the prince? How old is the princess?

That's not solvable, so the only reasonable answer is that they are both the same age.

i think i had this riddle in Baldur's GAte II is it the princess is 30 and the prince is 40

Okay, you have three Monsters, and three Monster Trainers on one side of the river. There is a small boat on their side of the river. You must get all 6 of them across the river safely.

Rules.

1. The Small boat can only hold 2 bodies at once. Either 2 monsters, 2 monster tamers, or 1 of each.

2. All 3 of the monster tamers are former sailors, so they all know how to sail the small boat.

3. The Monster Tamers worked hard, and taught one of their monsters to sail.

4. The river is to fast for them to push the boat across. Someone must sail it back across each time

5. If there are ever more monsters then monster tamers on one side, the monsters will go beserk. So if you have 2 monsters and 1 trainer on one side, the trainer is as good as dead.

Edit: Rule 6. None of them can swim, if any of them try to swim across, they will drown.


List the steps to get all 6 across safely.

1.ok first have 1monster tamer take the monster who can sail in the boat.
side 1=2monsters 2tamers. side two =1tamer 1monster in the middle
2. sailing monster grabs 1 more monster and drops him off with monstr tamer 1. Neverleaves boat so no beserk.
side 1=1monster 2tamers side 2 =1monster 1tamer
middle 1 monster.
3. Monster goes back to other side in boat and gives boat to 1 monster trainer and the sailing one stays in the boat.
Side 1=1monster 1trainer side2 1monster 1 trainer. boat =1monster 1 trainer
4. Sailing monster drops off Trainer and goes back
side 1= 1monster 1trainer. side 2 =1 monster 2trainers.. 1 monster sailing.
5 monster picks up 2nd monster and ferries him across never leaving boat.
side 1= 1trainer side 2=2trainers 2 monsters
6. last monster picks up trainer and ferries both across

Nope, doesn't work. Doesn't matter if the monster is in the boat or not, if there are two monsters on one side, they will go beserk and kill the tamer. Since there were 2 monsters with access to the side the single monster trainer was on, they would have gone beserk and tried to eat him anyway.

Also, there is no real "middle" area. There are just 2 sides.

Also, as a note MogMaster, the rules of this specific thread are no answering the question of the person who answered yours.

One guy ferries a comrade across.
That man returns, to fetch a monsterand dumps him over there.
He then repeats that loop, so two monsters and two trainers are over
he then fethces the other monster.

Nope, once the man took one of the comrade across, that would leave 1 tamer and 3 monsters on the first side, and he would be killed.

This one seems to be giving people more problems then I thought it would..

Edit: And yes, this IS doable. It isn't easy, but it is solvable.

Between the 6th and 7th line, you need to add


Tamer takes Sailing Monster there, and brings non-sailing back

Need to have sailing monster on far side when you get all 3 tamers there, so he can go and retrive the rest of them
