Quote -you really can still control the monster even if it has sneezed itself off the screen?! In a word, yes. I was just recently on the floating continent when I used Control on a sneezing enemy (I don't remember which), and I sneezed him outta the battle. I could still use that enemie's commands after he'd gone. To stay on topic, I left, I think, Umaro and Mog behind to swab teh poop deck. Arr! I ussualy leave Gau and Sabin behind.
I don't much like big strong buff guys, and I'm not that great with blitzes I use gau as little as humanly possible -------------------- "I will be the last, and you will go first!" -Saravok "Silence Dog. When I first completed it ages ago, one of the decisions was pretty obvious. Relm. I can't take her seriously, really. It's not her age - Mog, Gau and Umaro are either younger or the same age but it's the fact you're going to face a formiddable, insane clown who recently destroyed most of the world and has access to powerful magics. The one thing I wouldn't do would be to take a paintbrush and paper. I agree it makes her unique but I left her behind for that reason.
![]() Ages ago I would have said Gau, but I just couldn't leave him. The story where he finds out his past makes him so cute, and some of his rages are pretty powerful once you spend a bit of time with him. So Gau came. I would have also said Umaro a while ago, but he's proved himself useful. When my tactics don't work with the others in my party, he just does it his own way. It kind of takes a bit of weight off your shoulder. And I love blue mages from all the FF games they appear in, and Strago is quite unique but I didn't have the time to spend on levelling him up, since you get him quite late in the WOB. So sorry Strago, you're left back in the changing room. ![]() -------------------- "Luck is my middle name. Quote ![]() ![]() Damn straight! Anyway, I usually prefer to leave behind Relm and Strago. Neither of those two characters ever really appealed to me whatsoever, thus I never had any motivation to level them up. -------------------- Je ne t'aime plus, Mon amour... I'll admit that over the years I've left almost everyone behind (not Edgar though, or Mog, for some reason they've always been in my #1 party) and I'd like to think there are advantages and disadvantages to having a certain person in your final group.
Over the years I lost track of who the main character is in that game. I feel like everyone you get in the game (except WoR characters) contributes to making the "main party" of the game. I mean, you don't get all the Rages and Lores for no reason. You don't teach everyone all the magic spells for no reason. Everyone is important. Now back to the topic at hand. The last time I played it I actually left behind (don't hurt me) Sabin and Celes. Sabin really had no place in my final groups. For some strange reason I gave him some really bad stats near the end. Gogo could cause more damage than him. Celes, well, let's just say Runic has been useless to me since TunnelArmr. I never used her. I had a seriously hard time at the beginning of the WoR thanks to her. Well, that's my beef. My leftovers were Celes and Sabin, although leaving behind Relm in my next playthrough is most likely going to happen. She's gotta be the biggest pile of useless in that game. Being the ghost is better than being her. Actually the ghost is cool. Being Kuku the level 3 moogle is better than being her. There. That really puts her down. ![]() -------------------- Griever! You can never bash Relm too much.
I used to not like Celes also, but then I found out a neat little fact: whatever level Celes is on, that's the level that all the chars you find in the WoR will be on also (e.g. if Celes is on level 40, when she gets Edgar he will also be level 40) except Gau. This gives a lot of incentive for leveling her up early, and made her a permanent addition (whenever possible) to my WoB party. I have a strategy that I'm trying this game that involves getting Celes, Edgar, Setzer, and Gau and leveling them up with Experience Eggs in dragon forrest to level 99, then finding all the other characters. At that point, Celes will probably become useless again, but until then... |

The more levels you have to gain, the better...then you can learn more spells. If Celes is lvl 99 in the WOB, you won't be able to get spells like Flare, Ultima, any of the second elemental spells or suchlike in the WOR. UNLESS you train up with an exp. egg in places where you hardly get any exp, like the Veldt or bash Cactors. Dunno if that will let level 99 characters learn new spells, but I doubt it. That would ruin the whole point of a low levelled game. -------------------- "Luck is my middle name. Except you don't need to gain levels to learn new spells; you only need Magic Points. You only miss out on the esper stat bonuses at level-up.

Hmm i usually leave Umaro, and Setzer as they Suck. Setzer was always sorta dumb to me.
