OK, plain and simple: What is your favorite type of RPG?
Me personally likes Fantasy-type RPGs. FF games and CT are some of the best games ever. This post has been edited by Figaro on 2nd February 2004 10:34 -------------------- Wow. 1,000 posts. I miss you all now that I'm in boarding school! ;_; |

Is Zelda an RPG? I thought it was just an adventure game. 'Course if you wanted to I guess you could apply the term RPG to a lot of games.
My fav RPGs are definitely the FF series. I'm not sure what my 2nd favorite would be. I've been wanting to try out Disgaea but I'm poor as hell so I'm having to wait on that. -------------------- -- You're Gonna Carry That Weight -- |

Oh, most definitely all of them. I love the Mana Series, I love the FF series, and I love the "Tales" series(Tales of Phantasia etc.)which is somewhere in-between.

I chose Action RPGs. I really like the games in this genre -- those in the Seiken Densetsu series, Zelda, Secret of Evermore, etc. I enjoy the action battle systems more than a turn-based battle system, or even one where you simply enter commands. It just feels like you're doing more. That especially holds true in Zelda 64, where you're given almost complete control of Link's movement in battle.

I personally like Fantasy-type RPG's. There really are no action RPG's, in my opinion because that would mean first perosn shooters are RPG's...and they aren't. But, hey, that's MY opinion. I classify Zelda as Action/Adventure, not Action RPG. Anyways, i strayed from the topic. Now to get back on it. I like Fantasy RPG's and the turn-based system because it gives you a chance to think of what to do with your next character or, in Chrono Trigger's case, choose to be strategic or impulsive. The equipment, environment, and story in a Fantasy RPG allows the creator to get, well, creative, and that is ultimately what I enjoy about the games. There are, however, some Futuristic and Modern RPG's I enjoy (Advanced Wars and, if you can consider it an RPG, StarCraft).
