Who is your favorite Boss?
Mine is definitely Ultros, he was a recurring boss (just like any good RPG needs) he was funny, and (to my utter shame) it took me frickin' forever to beat him the first time i ever fought him. |

tough choice really since there were many good bosses in FF6. But, for no real reason besides the fact that he was pretty tough, I'm going to pick Doom Gaze.

I really like Wrexsoul, reason being... I don't know. He was kinda tough to fight (if you didn't use X-Zone), and it gave me an excuse to beat the living s*%! out of my own party members. Heh heh.

ph33r Ultros.
Well actually, Ultros was really much of a boss in terms of difficulty. He was a breeze to beat pretty much every time. It was just that you could never really beat him because he kept coming back. Plus he was just plain funny. He makes me giggle like a school girl. -------------------- I find your lack of faith disturbing... |

Poltergeist is definitely the coolest looking boss in the game, and Goddess was very tough. So those guys are my favorites.

Hmmm... Kefka is decidedly my favorite boss in any RPG, but I assume you mean besides him, so I think I'll pick the Doomtrain. That whole part of the game leading up to the boss was so cool, it's really what hooked me into the game. And I liked how you were fighting a train while running along in front of it.

Ultros was a fun boss to fight pretty much throughout the entire game, if only because he kept telling bad jokes the whole time.

Chadranook (Yeah, yeah, it seems wrong to you guys, but that's the actual name). He was the only boss to beat me on my first playthrough. That bastard.
Hidun is also one of my favorites. |

I'd say the final Kefka, because of the music, or Atma Weapon. I don't know why, but I just like Atma Weapon.

My favorite FF6 boss is the Guardian in Kefka's Tower because it was nice to finally win a battle against it...The battle was not completely easy, either. It required a nice balance of healing and attacking, so it made for a good fight. Second place would be No... I think 028 on the Mine Cart, since he also had good difficulty.

FF6? dang... ummm.. that dude at the beginning with Sabin. He could take an aurabolt, but not a pummel. What's up with him?

I completely agree it was kinda strange that you could blast him with 10 Aura Bolts but one pummel takes him out. It would be nice if that kinda thing didn't happen in games. Oh well......... |

The bad part about it all is that it could easily have been fixed (from Pummel spell counter to Blitz command counter) but they neglected to make the change in the code.

Well, it's sort of hard to hit him with 10 aurabolts, seeing as you have death sentence and all. In fact, it's hard to get off very many attempts at all before the timer runs down.

Kefka, well, you were kinda' expecting him all the time. I remember reading a reference to Atma Weapon as a "beast, bred for mass destruction." Or something to that affect. I'm like, eh, what the hey, until I meet this *thing* on the Floating Continent. Eye catches the name in the corner... Atma Weapon. Change of music, boss that took up half the screen, how can you NOT be wowed by this magnificent creature? Yeah, well, I was already an avid FF player, and he smeared my characters the first time I fought him...

I choose AtmaWeapon, for a few reasons.
First of all, I thought AtmaWeapon was one of the best looking bosses there were. He looked like a true boss because he was huge, good music was playing, and he was certainly a challenge. It took me at LEAST 3 tries to defeat him, and he is one of the only bosses to take me so long. His attacks and special moves were characteristic to his nature, and made the battle seem epic [=v) He also had a bit of a backstory. One of the scholars in one of the southern towns mentioned Two AtmaWeapons existing, one a sword and one a beast. I thought it was kind of fun hearing of a dreadful beast of legend, that I will get the opportunity of killing in a desperate struggle. So all in all, I thought he was a nice finishing touch to the finale of the end of the world, being the last boss you fight until the world begins to crumble. Let's hear it for AtmaWeapon! |
