Alright, this is something I've wondered about FF6 since its initial US release, but I've never gotten a concrete answer to.
In the Returner Hideout, when you control Terra alone, check the opposite end of the table Sabin is sitting on. You will get a message saying "Somone Dropped a Scrap of paper...." You can then proceed to leave it there or toss it in the trash. My question is....does this have a significant effect on the game at all? Or is it completely useless? |

I was told that that piece of paper had some trivial significance in the Japanese version of the game, similar to the Tools Manual found in the chest in WOR Mt Zozo, where you find Cyan. Im 99% sure it has no effect on the US version of the game. In all my years playing I have never found a change caused by it.

I think it is another un-explored plot thread to keep us on our toes.
Also, I did hear somewhere that in the Japanese version, Cyan's tools manuals actually taught him the abillity to use tools - just like Edgar. Can anyone shed any light on this? -------------------- Chrono Triggers rock super-group: Ozzie - lead singer from Black Sabbath Flea - Bassist from Red Hot Chilli Peppers Slash - Guitarist from Guns 'n' Roses He drinks and smokes his cares away His heart is in the lonely way Living in the ruins Of a castle built on sand... I'd say that's highly unlikely, considering he'd not have the window space to support another command. It's just more to do with his character, and his lack of functionality with machinery.

I agree, if they were to do that, the would have to replace his Attack SwrdTech Magic or Item, and I think they just wouldn't do that.

The piece of paper has no more significance than Banon throwing a fit over it if you leave it and then see the meeting scene.
Also, the books in Cyan's chest have no actual in-game purpose either. -------------------- |

No message, just whether to scrap it or not.

I always assumed it was a letter from the guy in South Figaro who was selling out his town...but that wouldn't make any sense at all, because the Empire got his letter!
Max: When you're controlling Terra before the meeting at the returner's hideout, check around the big table where the meeting begins. That's where you'll find the piece of paper (I believe it's at the top). -------------------- Hey, put the cellphone down for a while In the night there is something wild Can you hear it breathing?
