The favorite class got me thinking... What are your favorite abilities in each category?
Action Ability Set: Punch Art (monk). Very versatile. Can kill effectively, heal, revive, you name it. Hon. Mention: Math Skill (calc), Battle Skill (knight). Reaction Ability: Auto Potion (chemist). With nothing but X-Potions this can make you invincible. Hon. Mention: Blade Grasp (samurai), Counter (monk). Hamedo is wonderful but doesn't work often enough for me. Support Ability: This one is really tough for me. I'm gonna have to go with Gained JP UP (squire) just because I have this equipped all the time. If you're a perfectionist like me and like to master every class, this is a must. Hon. Mention: Two Swords (ninja). Movement Ability: Move +3 (bard). No brainer on this one. Hon. Mention: Ignore Height (lancer). -------------------- "Hit hard, hit first, hit often." --Adm. William "Bull" Halsey, USN |

Action Ability: Math Skill
The very BEST skill to have if you were to ask me because of its versatility in spells and lack of MP. And I just like Calculators because they can stay behind the battlefield and "stone" everyone with Petrify. Next: Punch Art I'm with Gerad on this one. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reaction: Counter You can pretty much guess why I like this ability. I have it on all but my Calculators and Archers. Counter with Two Swords is devastating. Next: Meatbone Slash This skill has gotten me out of a few pickles. Doing 200 damage to a Ninja when you're in critical is a huge boost to your advantage. This skip critical and go straight to the grave. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Support: Gained JP Up/ Magic AttackUP Gerad, once again, I have the same answer as you for this one. As for Magic AttackUP, using this ability with a Calculator gives you a major advantage when using any damaging skills such as Bolt, Fire, or Ice (1, 2, 3, 4) Next: Two Swords Using this skill with a Monk is pretty much self-explanatory. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Movement: Move +3 Self-explanatory. Next: Teleport If I'm correct, I believe Teleport is basically the same as Move +3. The only flaw in this is that you cannot see where your movement space ends. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------- Quote Woe to the Defeated -Brennus, Celtic leader |

Action:Punch Art (see two previous posts)
Second: Draw Out I like this one because It can heal a fair ammount of hit points, do damage while adding a negative status, and cast shell and protect with a 100% success rate _________________ Reaction: Counter (again, see upper posts) Second: HP Restore You had better get me past critical otherwise all of your work will dissapear before your eyes. ![]() _________________ Support:Two Swords Very usefull, often times if the first attack misses, the second will not. Second:Defence Up Very helpfull, it got me past velius _________________ Movement: Move + 3 Second:Float Mainly it prevents you from setting off traps, lets you hover above poisonous swamps and it makes you immune to earth spells. -------------------- CHANGE : When the winds of change blow hard enough, the most trivial of things can turn into deadly projectiles |

Action: Math Skill - Give it to any competent mage, and he becomes a god.
Reaction: Blade Grasp - You're practically immune to physical attack if you've got high Brave. And it also gives you the coolness factor of being able to catch bullets. ![]() Support: Two Swords - Does this one really need any explanation? Movement: Teleport - You can never get trapped, and in my experience it's a reliable Move +4. This post has been edited by Red XIV on 21st January 2004 18:48 |

Well, I'm a big fan of Cloud. Unfortunately, they sucked him up real bad in Tactics, so I had to take some 'liberties' to make him into what I thought he should be.
Action Ability Set: Math Skill. Yeah this is definitely a god like skill. All you need is a little luck and high Faith and BAM your enemies start dropping like flies. Hon. Mention: Limit Break. As I stated I love using Cloud. Unfortunately, the charge time for his breaks are VERY unrealistic and he can only use them with a crappy Materia Blade. Reaction Ability: Avoid. I'm not sure if this is the right term for the ability but I love this ability. I put this on my pumped up Cloud and he is practically untouchable with physical attacks. Hon. Mention: Counter. I find it amusing when an enemy hits my Ramza for like 300 points and he hits them right back for 700-800. Support Ability: Non-Charge. Ok, so you can't actually get this, but it is an AWESOME move to have with my Cloud. He busts out limit breaks like nobodies business. I especially like using Finishing Touch. 100% chance of getting 1 of 4 lethal status ailments. Hon. Mention: Two Swords. Yeah, this is a pretty killer ability to have for Cid or Ramza. Or just about anybody else for that matter. Movement Ability: Move +3. I'm going with this one as well. I like Teleport but its just to unreliable for me. Hon. Mention: Auto-Teleport. Same as Teleport except there is zero chance of it failing. But I don't like using it because it has a constant float effect with it. The characters marching in place while floating just gets to me. Has anyone else ever given Ramza the All-Ultima ability? Its that spell the last boss casts (if you give it enough time) and its a big Ultima ball that hits basically the whole field. -------------------- -- You're Gonna Carry That Weight -- |
