Ok, this part is really tough for me. I am in the battle where you fight elmdor on the roof with his evil assassins. Ok, to beat the battle, you must protect rafa from getting killed. So here;s teh problem. FIrst, Elmdor casts Murasame on her, then another assassin casts Stop, then finally, the last assassin killes her by attacking rafa twice with her two swords ability. That's the problem! She's dead even before it's my turn!!! And then its GAMEOVER. I've tried lots of times -- Crossing my fingers and hoping she won't do anyhitng stupid and just come back to my side where I can *hopefully* protect her.

Please help me. Is there anyway for her to not get killed in the first 3 turns???

What kind of party are you using right now? It's possible to get the first turn in with this battle, primarily if you have Ninjas or Thieves, which have high base speed that can of course be improved. With a good speed rating and a good move bonus, you can get them in the way and allow them to take the hit first sometimes. Fast characters with ranged attacks can even begin hitting an enemy first.

If you can get just one of the three down to critical, they all leave. So focus all attacks on whoever you can knock down the fastest.

Yeah, I had a hell of a time with this too. Those damn assassins with their insta-kill moves.

The best thing you can probably do is what Ranger51 said. Give people jobs with high speed and get them up their to protect Rafa. But don't just protect her you will probably have to heal her and such too because sometimes the enemy just ignores you and goes for Rafa. That can be a pain in the ass.

High speed jobs, keep Rafa alive, pic an enemy and beat the hell out of 'em.

I know its frustrating when the enemy kills Rafa even before you get a turn.
