This topic isnt intended to make fun of the great game that is Final Fantasy Tactics but to enjoy all the little tidbits of "Engrish" in the game.

In the introduction scene:"After the defeat of the 50 Year War, the King died of a terminal illness and the Prince who "succeed" him was only 2 years old."

I dont think thats the exact wording of it but its something like it.

Now, please post all the bits of "Engrish" that you may have found so that we can all enjoy them.

There's also a typo in a really important fight scene

Actually, Tactics had quite a few monster name mistakes. Cougar was translated as Cuar and Chimera as Kimera.

But you know, tranlating between two different languages can be hard at times. For instance, the syllable "Ba" can also be translated as "Va."
That's why Biggs name in FFT is Viggs.
Square did a great job nevertheless, I mean, they DID translate the game for our sakes (and maybe for the sake of money).

Cuar is also an acceptable name, though, as I recall. It appears also in FF5 and FF7, and I think it appears also in some literature as a mythical animal, though I can't put my finger on it. Kimera, though wrong, also appears in at least one other FF game - I think FF5. So, while translation errors, they're not without precedent.

My favorite mistranslation in the entire game remains "I got a good feeling!" It's just so happy and childish-sounding that it never fails to make me smile. For sheer absurdity, I always love having to "Defeat Dycedarg's Older Brother Dycedarg." And, as you can see from Neal's transcription of the Germonik Scriptures, the more text you read at a time, the worse it seems to get.
