I know that ninjas can attack twice when you hit the attack button, right? so I was wondering if you could equip ninjas with guns so that the ninja would shoot once, then again with a different gun....kinda cool if you think about it....

Guns are two-handed weapons in FFT.

even if it were possible, ninjas just aren't supposed to use guns, it would take away from everything that makes ninjas cool!

Yes, Ninja are supposed to be silent and deadly, not "two AKs blazing like a bomb going off" noisy and deadly.

However, a modern Ninja woudl use silencers.

You could, but a gun is a two-handed weapon. It would be pointless.

A gun is not a two-handed weapon. Turn your game on and check.
Characters do not hold a gun (or a crossbow) with two hands as they do a bow, or a sword when equipped with Two Hands ability. The game simply wont let you equip two guns.

Yes, but think logically. A Firearm and a crossbow need to be reloaded. Which requires 2 hands. So unless theres an automatic pistol in game, i think that guns would be two handed weapons for realism.
Since i assume the guns in FFT are the old flintlock pistols and rifles, they need two ahnds

I dont want to argue (a lot), because you do make a good point, but I was thinking logically, and a gun technically isnt a "Two Hand" weapon. You can equip a shield with a gun if you really want to. Try it.

Yeah, just look at those Policemen with raiding shields. They sometimes have to use guns. I'm not much for ninjas, so i have a question. If only ONE gun was equipped, would it shoot twice? Probably a nub question, but what the hell.

But of course, those guns are Automatic/Semi-Automatic Pistols, and have clips of 8-15 rounds, IIRC. Flintlocks are one-shots and take ages to reload.
So since they take ages to reload, the gun wont shoot twice.

Besides, like has been said, no self-respecting Ninja pulls a gun.

Go to your formation and look at your list of weapons, it will tell if they are compatible with different abilities. If you look at any gun, it will say "One Hand Only" which takes out the ability for 2 hands and 2 swords... hence the name 2 swords... a gun isnt really a sword now is it?

Also a little helpful hint about ninjas. Never equip them with double flails. It gets really old when you go up against a zodiac brave and you lose because you only did 44 damage with the first flail and 22 with the second when you know for cetrain you did a total of 500 damage on a previous battle with the same weapons. Stick with the ninja blades.

TAS, if this "One Hand Only" thing is true, then that means Ninjas are allowed to equip two guns. That has been the somewhat one-sided debate on these last couple of posts: is a gun one or two-handed weapon? I say two hands, because otherwise, people with 1 gun would be able to eqip a shield...Oh, and one more thing, two swords applies to anything as long as that weapon is one-handed; and this includes fists.

NOTE: And BTW, if anyone happened to wonder where Calculator Einstein went, you're reading one of his posts. I'm CE. Had a bit of memory loss when i went to the password...So, just said screw it and made a new name. Sorry if this bit of information wasnt supposed to be put in an FFT post, moderators.

Ah, that is where you would be wrong. You CAN have a shield and gun equipped at the same time, I've done it once with an archer only because I wanted to see if it was possible. Also, in the item list it will say something like this next to the murasame

Two-Hands
Two-Swords

while, next to any gun, it will say

One hand only

which means it is not compatible with either the Two-Swords skill or the Two-Hands skill.

Oh, and, by the way, If you can remember, Mustadio opens up the back of the gun and looks through the barrel from the back which implies that there is no packing required, leaving it free for a quick reload with the other hand. While holding a shield, you still have a hand free to reload becasue it hangs on your fore arm.
