Its winter just now (for most of us, except those in the Southern hemisphere) and so, we're all longing for the sun (or for it to actually flippin well SNOW!).
So, in order to survive the dreary winter, whats everyones favourtie destination for a Holiday/Vacation? and where would you really like to go?

Mine is Scarborough in Yorkshire, England. Its a nice seaside town, and has a lot to do, but sicne ive went there so much i've done most of the attractions within the town, excpet the fact ive never went to watch the local Football team...
However, since its close to York, and IIRC you can get a bus to Leeds, not to mention the fact theres other places surrounding the town, its got good links to other places to go.
The fish is nice, natrually. thumbup.gif and sos the snacks at the seafront. The castles interesting in a way, and from the cliffs, you get a nice veiw of the town and the English channel. Theres a sealife centre, which is often good, and some of you may have heard of the Naval battle at Peasholm Park -they claim its world famous- where with the aid of model ships and squibs, the park earns a pretty penny biggrin.gif , and i know the place almost as well as my Hometown of Linwood.

Id like to go to one of the Major Games Workshop events, either the Grand Tournaments in Warhammer World, -which is either in Lenton like the HQ or Nottingham like the HQ used to be, I cant remeber- or Games Day, where they showcase the new models, have participation games, and the Golden demon painting competition. But thats not really a holiday as such... wacko.gif

It's not a great vacation destination, but I always love to visit Connecticut... simply because that's my second home. My dad lives there... and through constant visits there, I've made some amazing friends there. The house I stay at is really close to a lake so I get to go boating and do various activities with it ... that's always fun. It's only about 20 minutes away from a ski resort so it's equally as fun during the winter. There are no real good ski resorts in a place as flat as Connecticut, but it's still fun. Good times, good times

Lenton is in Nottingham, you dingbat. I live there.

Holidays? Give me a fairly unpopulated, warm beach, doesn't matter where, and someone special to share it with, and I'm happy. Well, I assume I am, because it's never happened. Maybe I ask too much.

Failing that, I've always enjoyed the south of England when it's blessed with a little sunshine and warmth, but I haven't been much further afield to know about other places. At the moment, anywhere where exams aren't would do me.

Well, for me the Holidays are over, since JanTerm classes started on the 5th, but I would basically have picked anywhere. I seriously don't think it matters much at this point in my life - I just want to be able to spend time with my girlfriend back home. Other than that I don't even think I can count it as a vacation.

Most of my holidays, I choose to stay home while others go away places. I like the peace and quite of an empty house.

Where would I like to go? Hum, Lilly knows I'd love to go to Scotland, the outer hebrides in particular. I'd also like to ride the full length of the trans-canadian railroad.

I live at the ultimate Winter destination.
At this point, the Snow Birds have stopped coming, but won't start leaving until about two months from now.
