OK, I have a GBA (not SP) and I don't want (or need) an SP. So, are the backlighting kits worth it? And if they are, which kind is best?
Tanks.

I think all lighting accessories for the GBA are external lights, which isn't the same thing as a backlight. From reading reviews I hear that the afterburner is the best one, but I haven't tried any of them so I can't say if light accesories are worth it or not.

Well, I bought a crappy MadCatz external light accessory, and it doesn't work very well. mad.gif So that's why I'm looking for an internal backlighting kit, like Afterburner. Thanks, 1stclass. This helps a lot smile.gif

be warned figaro, installing the back light yourself is tricky, and it voids your warrenty, you can have the makers of backlight do it for you, but then you run the risk of losing you GBA in the mail, plus it costs extra. I'd just switch to the sp, its frontlit screen is awsome.

I could, but they are expensive, and I don't like the buttons very much...

I dislike the SP. The screen is backlit and the compactness is cool, but I have large hands. It's ill-suited to my hands.

Also, the L and R buttons are too small and don't seem to be placed properly, and the D-pad sucks since it doesn't stick out far enough and diagonals are difficult to pinpoint.

So, I have an SP but sadly my dislike of it causes me not to play my GBA much.
